BETHANY E. U. B. The traditional service of carols and candles will be held at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve in Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church. This year it *4ll feature more singing by the congregation. Throughout the several episodes, the Christmas story will be dratnatlied in pageantry. FIRST METHODIST Saturday night, Christmas Eve, there will be a candlelighting service at the Methodist Church from 11 o’clock until midnight. The theme of the service will be “Even Unto Bethlehem.” It will be developed throughout the hour with Christmas readings by the Rev. Virgil Sexton, Interspersed with the singing by ail present of traditional Christmas carols. Words of the carols will be projected on the screen in the darkened sanctuary with the nativity scene in the background. Mrs. Edgar Gerber at the organ will play “O Holy Night" by Adams and “The Shepherds in the Field” by Mailing. The senior choir, under the direction of Miss Helen Haubold, will sing “Sing Gloria" by Davis. A special Christmas offering will be received for the use of the Rev. and Mrs. E. E. LeMasters, ministers abroad of the local Methodist church. Money received will be used by them to assist in the construction of needed facilities for children at tlieir mission station In Angola, Africa. For this service the sanctuary has been specially decorated. Light will be provided by ten sevenbranched candelabras. A light white candle, symbolical of the came down at Christmas jn the person of Christ, will stand central upon the altar. The service will close with each ' one present holding a tiny lighted candle during the closing carol. Acolytes and “Bearers of the Light” for this part of the service will be Miss Jeanie Finlayson and Miss Judy Sexton. The public is invited to attend. Family Worship Hour At Presbyterian Church There will be no meeting of the Sunday school Sunday morning at the Presbyterian church. Instead, there will be a family worship service it the regular 10:30 am. worship hour. This will be an informal worship service in which the whole family will take part, with special music by the Westminster and adult choirs, and an organ-piano duet with Mrs. James Kocher at the piano and Mrs. Carrie Haubold at the organ console. The sacrament of baptism will be administered. The Rev. Ray J. Walther’s message for the day will be "The Christmas ■ Story;”

ZION REFORMED A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church Saturday at 11 p. m. The service will be in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William C. Feller, and will include the singing of carols by the congregation, scripture readings, two vocal number* by the youth ensemble, three numbers by the senior choir, and the ceremony of candle lighting. The youth ensemble will sing, “Away in a Manger” by Mueller, and “0 Holf Night" by Adolphe Adam.
