Woman Embezzler Is Freed Under Bond 111 Woman Admits Bank Embezzlement INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — Mrs. Genevieve Campbell, 45, who was told by doctors that she has only a few weeks to live because ot cancer, was free under 12,000 bond today. She was charged by a federal grand jury with embesaling *175,856 frotn the Union State Bank at Windfall, of which she was the trusted former cashier, over a per iod of 20 years. Assistant U. S. district attorney Don A. Tabbert said the woman avoided detection by making false entries of funds to offset false debit But the alleged crime was discovered last June during a weekly audit while Mrs. Campbell was hospitalised. Officials said Mrs. Campbell had built a luxurious *50,000 home at Windfall and paid debts of relativcß. Dan F. Wright, Windfall farmer and father of the defendant, made full restitution soon after the shortage was discovered, according to Tabbert, who added that Mrs. Campbell has signed a statement admitting she took the money for her own personal nse.
