EMPLOYES HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY RECENTLY The employes of the Adams county highway department, commissioners' and surveyor’s department, entertained their wives and children at a Christmas party and supper held recently'at the Youth and Community Center. Entertainment was furnished by the Zurcher accordion band and gifts were distributed to the group. The children were given treats. A number of donations from business firms made the party possible. The meai was prepared by Mrs. Lawrence Noll. Mrs. Albert Beer, Mrs. Richard LaFontaine, Herman Geimer, and Severin Scharger. Those attending Included Mrs. Harley Reef, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Worthman, Mr. and Mrs. John Kintz and daughters, Mi;, and Mrs. Herman Moellering, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Smith and daughters. New officers include Mrs. Lester Strahm, president; Mrs. Carl Lichtenberger, vice-president; Mrs. Eugene Beam, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Jack Rayer, assistant; Mrs. Merrill Johnson and Mrs. Leonard Johnston press reporters. Mrs. Welty had charge of devotions and the group then sang Christmas carols. A, Christmas exchange followed and refreshments were served. The closing prayer was given by Mrs. Lester Strahm. The next meeting will be held January 27 at the home of Mrs. Robert Reynolds. JEFFERY NIBLICK HONORED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY A birthday party was held Saturday, in honor of Jeffery Niblick on his fourth birthday. The party was held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Niblick. Games were played and prizes were won by Teresa Archer, Sandy i Ross, Chris Kortenber, and Danny Dean Pettibope. The honored guest. . received many gifts and refreshments were served the group. > Those present were - Johnny Knudsen, Johnny Kocher, Danny Dean Pettibone, Chris Kortenber, Sandy Ros*, Teresa Archer, Rickv Archer, Dianna Durbin, Sherry Durbin, Patty Fawcett, and Jerry Douglas. Out of town- guests included Mrs Joe Kortenber, and Mary and Teresa Kortenber. Members of the Tri Kappa sorority are reminded to turn in the tickets for the doll project at tonight’s meeting, which will be held at the home of Mrs. C. E. Bell at 8 o’clock. The Nazarene Foreign Missionary society met recently at the church and the meeting was opened with congregational singing. Prayer was led by Mrs. Ell Andrews and Mrs. Glenn Habegger was in charge of devotions. Colored slides about India were shown to the sided over the business meeting and the lesson study was given by Mrs. Lykins. The meeting closed with prayer. | The Decatur high school class

i Hospital Trustees Hold Regular Meet ‘ Holiday Party To Be Held Dec. 29 The final regular meeting of the j trustees of Adams county memorial t hospital for 1955 was held Monday night at the hospital. Bills were y {allowed and employes salaries were t paid fey £he month of December. . Bills paid totalled 818.286.48. ! A regular monthly statement , concerning finances and number of patients will not be completed until January 1, Thurman Drew, business manager, said. The trustees will hold one final 1955 meeting. December 29 for the purpose of electing officers and Setting employes salaries for 1956. The annual hopsital staff and personnel holiday party will be held Thursday, December 29, at the K. of P. home here, it was announced. The party is an annual event and is participated in by all of the hospital staff and the trustees. Hearing Held Here For Appropriation George Gable, representative of the state board of tax commissioners, held a hearing in the office of county auditor Frank Kitson today.
