Spartans Whip Gray Quintet Tuesday Night The Pleasant Mills Spartans had little difficulty in registering their sixth victory of the season and their fourth in a row Tuesday nighL_ whipping the Gray quintet, 80M5, at the Pleasant Mills gym. The Spartans led at the first quarter, 20-14. at the half. 40-22, and at the third period, 56-32. All 10 players used by the Spartans broke into the scoring column, four in double figures, led by Don Melching with 15 points. Manor topped Gray with 22 markers. Gorillas Beal Petroleum For Second Victory The Hartford Gorillas scored their second, victory of the season Tuesday night, surprising the Petroleum Panthers, at the Bluffton community gym. The Gorillas ran up a 14-0 lead in the first three minutes, but then went scoreless for 10 minutes as Petroleum pulled into a 14-14 tie at the first quarter and a 21-20 edge at the half. Hartford then moved to a 40-33 lead at the third period and held off the Panthers the rest of the way. Dean Stahly topped the winners with 17 points, followed by Joyce Zuercher with 14 and Roger Moser with 10. Stauffer led the Wells county team with 21 points.
