CHRISTMAS PARTY TO BE HELD BY EAGLES AUXILIARY The Eagles auxiliary met recently for their regular ineeting. Plans were completed tor the Christmas party to be held Tuesday, December 13, at 6:30 o’clock with a $1 gift exchange. All members are asked to bring a, covered dish. A donation was given to the can* cer fund and the F. O. E. memorial foundation. Also, $5 was donated to the Good Fellows club. The rummage sale, sponsored by the auxiliary in the Boch building, will be open from » until 8:30 o’clock urdayThe next regular meeting will be December 27, MISSIONARY SOCIETY TO HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY The Zion Lutheran Missionary society’s annual Christmas dessert party will be held in the parish hall Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Mrs. Louis Jacobs will read a Christmas meditation and prayer. Mrs. Walter Bauer, program chairman, together with her committee, has arranged Christmas music, songs, and a special film in keeping with the spirit of the season. A short business meeting will be conducted by Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg, president. A gift exchange will also be held. Assisting with the meeting will the Mesdames Norman Kruse, •D. H- Callow, Alva Railing, Arthur Llllich, Lawrence Schroeder, and Anna Keeling. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM BY MUSIC DEPT. MONDAY Monday evening. December 12, at 7:45 the Music department of the Decatur Woman’s elub will present their annual Christmas program in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church. The chorus will be directed by Miss Helen Haubold and accompanied by Mrs. Harold Murphy. The Church Mothers study club will meet with Mrs- Winston Rawley Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. A 50 cent gift exchange will be held. The Academy of Friendship of the Women of the Moose will have their party Monday evening with a potluck supper at 6 o’clock. Members are asked to bring their own table service and their Academy pal Christmas gift. A 50 cent gift exchange will also be held. Mrs. A. R. Holthouse will be hostess to the Research club Christmas party Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. A Christmas party will be held by the Root township home demonstration club Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the home of Mrs Dale Moses. A carry-in dinner will be featured at noon. Members are asked to not the change in meeting place. The Past Presidents Parley of the American Legion auxiliary will have their family Christmas dinner at 5:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Legion hall. The Ladies Fireman’s auxiliary will hold their Christmas supper at the Fairway restaurant Monday evening at 6:30 o’clock. The group will meet at the Fire station at 6 o'clock. Robert Falk, director of extension at the University of South, Dakota, Yankton. S. D., former 'Decatur resident, visited here Thursday. He is a son of the late I Mr. and Mrs. John Falk of this city. wRwEL SL r ... ' SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, Mr. and Mrs. August Schlickman of route two. Decatur, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with open house at their home in Kirkland township. Open house will be observed from 2 until 4 o’clock. Mr. and Mrs. Schlickman were married December 14, 1905. The couple has five children, twenty grandchildren, afsfl five greatgrandchildren. Children include Roy of Gibson City, Ill.; Jesse of Willshire, O.: Dorphus, Mrs. Floyd Arnold and, Mrs. Ivan Heare, all of route two, Decatur. ' Mr. and Mrs. Schlickman have requested that they be given no gifts as they prefer to visit with old friends and acquaintances.
