Kenny Gallmeier. — M. H. S. — Thb Hoagland Wildcats and the Rockcreek Dodgers became the seventh and eighth teams respectively <l6 bow to the Eagles. Friday evening Hoagland was defeated by a score of 68-60, and on Saturday the Eagles downed Rockcreek 58* 51. Botti games were played in the Monmouth gym. The second team also proved victorious in both of of these games. This makes four victories for the second team and eight wins, ip as many starts, for the varsity. 4- M. H. S. — Thanks to the generous supporters of M. H. S, and the students at the Reppert auction school, the grade children are 190.60 richer. Saturday evening just following the basketball game an auction was held in the gym. The products offered for sale <\ere cooked and baked articles donated by people in and around Monmouth. Everyone, especially the lower grades, would like to thank the persons who made donations to the sale, and they would also like to thank the student auctioneers who gave so freely of their time. — M. H. S. — This Friday evening the Eagles will journey to Pleasant Mills to play the Spartans. Look out, Spartans. we’re out to make it “nine in a row!” Washington — Forest fires in the U.S. each year, 90 percent of them man-made, destroy enough usable timber to build approximately 36,000 new homes.
