DINNER MEETING IS HELD BY MISSIONARY SOCIETY Sixteen women from the Missionary society of the First Baptist church in Decatur attended a dinner meeting evening which was held'at the First Bap-„ tist church in Biuffion. The welcome was presented by Mrs. Irving Trom Bluffton and Mrs. Soldner of Decatur responded Mrs. Carl Hooker, president of the» Bluffton society, presided at the meeting. * Decatur was in charge of devotions and offices of the national board, etafte uoaru, association board, and local church, were thoroughly explained by Mrs. Max Markley of Bluffton. Consecration aervices at the closing portion of the meeting, were led by Mrs. Weldon Soldner of Decatur. , Mrs. Bryce Daniels ia the president of the local society. WEIGHT REDUCING CLUB HOLDS MEETING TUESDAY • The Decatur Weight Reducing club met Tuesday evening and the meeting was opened with the group singing "The More We Get Together,” followed by devotions During the business meeting election of officers was held for the coming year. Members weighed in and dues were collected. It was reported that the members have lost a total of lM pounds in the past seven weeks. All members are urged to atend the December 20 meeting to see who wins the Christmas reward for having lost the most weight. A Christmas gift exchange will also be held at this partyT it was announced that it is no! too late to join this group and if anyone is interested they are ask-* ed to call 3-3084. COUPLE CELEBRATES 30TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs Roland J. Miller of route five, Decatur, entertained Thanksgiving day with a turkey dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Miller also celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Sister Needle club, which was held Monday evening after Temple. Dues were collected and plans were made for'the Christmas party. It will be held at the K of P. home, December 1? at 5:46 p. m. The decorating committee includes Vera Barber, Alice Christen, and Mary Ahr- A 50 cent gfft exchange will be featured at the party. The group was then invited ' into the dining room, where the tables were beautifully decorated. The door prize was won by Ahr. Games were played and prizes were awarded to the various winners. FAMILY NIGHT IS HELD TUESDAY AT K. OF P. HOME The Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters held a family night last evening at the K. of P. home. A delicious potluck supper was served at 6:30 o'clock to 50 guests and members present. Miss Donna Small played several numbers on the accordion and a group of vocal duets was sung by Karen Corey and Jaralee Magsamen, accompanied on the piano by Sharon Sheets, who also played a few numbers. Jerry Rumple played a number of selections on the piano while a candy walk was enjoyed by the group. Fred Striker and Mrs. Frank Crist won the candy. Miss Linda Pollock received a beautiful hand knit stole as a door prize. Games were played and' prizes were awarded. The ball and tables were beautifully decorated. Those on the entertainment included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kitson, Oren Shultz, Mrs. Asa Pollock. Mrs. William Barber, Mrs. Mary Ahr. and Mrs. Charles Beineke. It was decided to bold a family nigbt once a month. The Decatur Camera club will met at the Youth and Community Center Monday evening at 7:30 O’clock. A Christmas party will be held by the Civic department of the Decatur Monday evening at 7:45 o’clock at the home of Mrs- Ivan Stucky. The Gals and Pals home demonstra:ion club will meet Tuesday with Mrs. Jack Longenberger at 7:30 o’clock. Members are reminded to bring their Christmas gifts for their secret pal. Mrs. Henry Heller opened the meeting with the club collect and conducted the regular current event session. She then followed with a lesson on Alaska.
