Mrs. Maud Mahan has- returned home after spending the Thanksgiving holiday with her son, Capt. Ivan Mahan and family. Capt. Mahan was recently transferred from Klrtland A.F.8., N.M., to Wright Patterson &F-8., Dayton, O. The Wells county Boy Scouts have received notice from the state conservation department granting permission to use the Wells county game preserve as 1 the site for the 1854 Boy Bcout Camporee. They will be host to some 1,504 Boy Scouts from the nine counties in this district. The Rev. Richard W. Anderson, of Port Wayne, has been named pastor of the Congregational Christian- church at Linn Grove and ha'; accepted the charg& Mrs. Ruth Young, of BluffUm’ who was found guilty of driving while under the influence of liquor and who was fined $l4O and costs of $14.75, and whose license was suspended for a year, has appealed from mayor’s court to circuit court. She is being represented by Elmore Sturgis. . The city of Van Wert will hold a special election in March to try to pass a special operating levy, on which to operate. The levy was defeated in the recent election leaving the ctty without any funds on which to operate. A special meeting of the Shelter union at Portland is to be held tonight at the Portland Armory where the company Is losing its contract because of delays Madge Worhinger, formerly of Decatur, is a patient at the Visalia hospital in Visalia, Calif., suffering with a twisted knee and arthritus.
