MIBS WANDA KNAUBT WEDS JAMES D. NELSON Miss Wanda J. Knaust, daughter of Mr. and. Mrs. Leo W. Knaust of Creve Cour Mill road, St. Louts, Mo., became the bride of James D. Nelson, son of Mrs. Katharyn , Nelson and the late Nathen C. Nelson, of 217 South Seventh street, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The double-ring ceremony took place at the Church of Christ in Maryland Heights, Mo., with the Rev. George P. Estes reading the nuptial vows. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. There were 75 present. , j . The bride is a graduate of Pattonville high school at St. Louis, and was employed as a secretary at Lambert Field in St. Louis. Her husband was graduated from Decatur high school and is now serving in the air force. The couple will reside at the home of the bridegroom’s mother until December 17; at which time the bridegroom will report for assignment to Selfridge Field, Mt. Clemens, Mich. MISS CAROLYN HARRIS I HONORED AT SHOWER t Miss Carolyn Harris, bride-elect . of Theodore Wemhoff, was recently honored with a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Evelyn I Gross in Bluffton. Miss Anita Reynolds was assisting hostess. The couple will exchange vows December 10. The entertaining rooms were decorated in a color scheme of pastel yellow and mint green. A cornucopia was used as the centerpiece on the mantel of the fireplace and the showers gifts were placed around this. Refreshments in keeping with the color scheme were served from tables decorated with miniature bouquets of yellow dalsey type mums. Favors of tiny green un» brellas with the inscription on the handles "Carolyn & Ted, Dec. 10" were placed on each serving plate. Many beautiful and useful gifts were presented to Miss Harris. Miss Nancy Callow Wed Last Saturday To Ralph 4. Keller The First Methodist church of Decatur was the scene of the marriage of Miss Nancy Mae Callow and Ralph Albert Keller Saturday evening at 6:30 o’clock, with the Rev. Virgil Sexton reading the nuptial vows for the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Callow of Decatur and Mr; find Mrs- Albert Keller, Jr., of Blufton. The musicale was presented by Mrs. Edgar Gerber, organist, and Miss Helen Haubold, vocalist The bride was lovely in a gown of rosepoint lace and nylon tulle over satin. The molded bodice of lace was fashioned with a scalloped shoulder line and mandarin collar etched on a sheer yoke, and long, tapering sleeves- The manylayered tulle skirt featured a redingote edged with a wide border of scalloped lace, and swept into a (Circular, chapel-Hength train. Her fingertip veil was caught to a coronet of lace flowerettes sprinkled, .with iridescent sequins and pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with a white prehid. Miss Sharon Kimble, of Fort Wayne, attended as maid-of-honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. William Callow of Decatur, Mrs. RichMoose. beginning with a potluck supper at 6:30 o’clock. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Callow chose a light blue lace dress with black accessories while the bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue dress witb navy accessories. Both wore corsages of white mums. Mrs Heemstra was dismissed from the Lutheran hospital Saturday and is now at her home on 2524 Priscilla Lane, Fort Wayne. GIRL SCOOT Brownie troop 25 had a party Tuesday. We had ice cream and cookies and played games. We closed the meeting with the Brownie promise. Scribe: Linda Brodbeck Brownie troop three met at the Lincoln school and the meeting opened by roll call, dues were collected and favors of turkeys were gifen to each Brownie and two guests. W’e received our pen and we said the Brownie pledge. Refreshments were served and games were playe: Scribe: Patricia Hopper Decatur Girl Scout troop two met Tuesday at the Community Center. The leader passed out the peanut books. We earned our hospitality badge. At the next meeting we will make Christmas gifts for our mothers. We are going to have a Christmas party December 29, with a 25 cent gift exchange. Troop nine met in the Youth and Community Center recently. We opened the meeting with the Girl Scout promise and the pledge to the flag. We worked on our Christmas gifts and discussed our potluck supper which is going to be December 8, at 6:30 at the Youth Center. We closed the meeting with-taps. Scribe: Peggy McCammon, are asked to bring canned goods to this meeting for the basket donation. The Kum-Double crass of the Trinity E. U. B. church will meet tonight at 7 o’clock in the church basement. All members are invited to attend. Mrs. Robert Shraluka will be hostess to the Eta Tau Sigma sorority Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock. The Pleasant Grove W.M.A. will meet Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Mary Shifferly. This is the third quarterly meeting, dues will be collected and reports will be made. A silent auction and Christmas exchange will be held. All members are urged to be present at this important meeting. The Eagles auxiliary 2653 will hold their regular meeting Tuesday at 8 o'clock at the Eagles hall. They were married November 23, 1905. at Defiance, O. The couple has two sons, Claude W. of Monroe and Ferd of Miami, Fla. An only daughter, Donelda of Monroe, will give a reception tor them at the Zion Lutheran church parlors in Chattanooga, 0., Sunday, at 1:30 o’clock. They will observe open house at their farm home from 7 to 9 o’clock on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Marckel have four grandchildren.
Three Arrests Made Following Accidents No One Injured In Accidents Thursday Three arrests were made as the result of two accidents in Adams county Thursday morning. Both accidents caused property damage but no one was injured in either wreck. The first was at 8:50 a. m. two miles-south and a half mile north of Berne on a county road. A car driven by Carl Lazoff, 23, of Fort Wayne, crashed Into a car driven by Herman Neuenschwander, 33, of Berne route one, as Neuenschwander made a sweeping right turn and Lazoff started to pass him. Investigating officers sheriff Merle Affolder and state trooper Al Coppes arrested both drivers. Neuenschwander was charged with making an improper turn and Lazoff was arrested for operating a vehicle with an expired license. Both will appear in justice of the peace courts later. Damage to the two vehicles totalled 325 Q. Charles R.'Tolan, 23, of Dee® tur, was arrested for making a U-turn on U. S. 224 six miles east of Decatur after an accident at 11:50 a. m. Thursday. As Tolan was in the process of making the Ufturn he was struck by a car driven by Robert N. Donor, 22, of Centerville, Pa. Damage was estimated at 3800 to the Tolan car and 31,000 to the Donor vehicle. Tolan will appear in J. P. court Saturday afternoon. Affolder and Coppes were the investigating officers.
