All - Midwest College Star Eleven Listed CHICAGO (INS) — Michigan State and Notre Dame, two perenial national powerhouses, dominate the 1955 International News all-midwest football team by pjacing two men each on the first eleven. Two smaller schools, Dayton University and Miami (of Ohio) also had a man named. Other schools placing a representative on the team: Michigan, Purdue. lowa, Illinois and Ohio State. The players were named in a poll of 27 coaches and 14 sports writers. Three players from last year's INS all-midwest team repeated today. They are ®on Kramer, Michigan’s brilliant end, Calvin Jones, guard from lowa, and Howard (Hopalong) Cassady, one of the greatest in Ohio State history. Kramer Is one of two juniors
