MISS CARMA NELSON IS BRIDE IN CHURCH RITES Sunday, October 30, Mia® Carma Laverne Nelson became the bride of Roland Gene Bultemeyer, with the Rev. Henry Simmons reading the nuptial vows. The ceremony took place at tihe First Methodist church in Hicksville, O. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Nelson of Hicksville and Mr. and Mrs. William Bultemeyer of Decatur. The musicale was presented by Mrs. Irene Applegate, organist, and Lowell Applegate, vocalist. Kliven in... mariage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of nylon tulle and chantilly lace over white bridal satin. The fitted bodice of satin overlaid with lace featured an open scalloped edged neckline sprinkled w4th irredescent sequins. Her sheer sleeves of lace were long and fitted, forming points over the bands. Mrs. Virginia Applegate, sister of the bride, served as matron-of-honor in a floor-length gown of gold crystalette over taffeta. It featured a fitted torso bodice with a sweetheart neckline and small cap sleeves. Serving at a later reception at Reltdorf’s in Hoagland, were Mrs. Mary Alice Klopfenstein, Mrs. Anna Conners, Mrs. Jean Getting, Miss Carolyn Aumann, Mrs. Ruth Bultemeyer, and Mrs. Barbara Woebbeking. For traveling south to the Smoky Mountains, the bride wore a brown chromespun dress with beige accessories and a white orchid corsage. Following Iheir return, the couple will reside at 518% East Rudasill Boulevard in Fort Wayne. JUNIOR AUXILIARY HOLDS MEETING THURSDAY The Junior auxiliary of the D. A. V. auxiliary met Thursday evening at 4 o’clock with commander, Bessie Smith, presiding. There were 11 members and five guests present. After the meeting, favors were made by the group to be taken to the county home for Thanksgiving. Refreshments were served by Roberta Kunkel and Deborah Eyanson, assisted by their mothers, Mrs. Fred Kunkel and Mrs. Ted Eyanson. The next meeting will be_held Thursday, Dec. 1, at 4 o’clock. All the juniors are urged to be present for pictures. ST. GEORGE STUDY CLUB HOLDS MEETING WEDNESDAY The St. George study club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Lee Miller. Mrs. Jerome Wellman acted as chairman and opened the meeting with the prayer of Our Lady of Good Counsel and the prayer to St. George. The minutes of the last ipeeting were read by the secretary. Questions were read from the club’s question and answer book and discussed by the members present. The meeting was closed with the rosary. The December meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Ed Linder. WOMEN’S CLUB TO MEET AT COMMUNITY CENTER Mrs. Robert L. Whittaker will speak at the general November meeting of the Decatur Woman's club Monday evening at the Youth and Community Center, using as her topic “Aboard with the General Federation.” Mrs. Whittaker, who #as named woman of the year by the Fort Wayne A. A. U. W. last year, has been both president and chairman of the Fort Wayne Woman's c|ub and holds two chairmanships in the state federation. Last summer, Mrs, Whittaker of the gen* ?fal federation of Woman's clubs, to Geneva, Switzerland, tc attend the international conference of women. She toured Europe with an international group after the Mrs, Whittakjer ts known as a witty speaker and a friendly, delightful person who was a fine ambassador of good will for Americap women. The Literature department will sponsor this meeting, which will be held at 7:45 o'clock, and all members and guests are urged to attend. A regular meeting of the Rebekah lodge will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock in the Odd Fellows hall. There will be nomination of officers. An invitation was received from Mount Olive Rebekah lodge of Petroleum, to attend a reception in honor of Mrs. Treva Sharp, warden of the Rebekah assembly, Sunday afternoon, November 13, from 2 until 5 o’cfeck (DST) In the I O. The 8200,000 estate of the late George Ball of Muncie was given his daughter, Miss Elizabeth Ball. Social Calendar Is Announced By Elks Events Are Planned During November The social calendar for the month of November at the Elks lodge has been announced by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Keller, chairmen of the entertainment committee for the month. The committee has planned a card party for Saturday, Nov. 5. Prises will be awarded during the evening. Members of the lodge are invited to visit the club Tuesday, Nov. 8, for election returns. Games and free snacks are planned for Saturday, Nov. 12. Coffee and sandwiches will be available every Saturday night. The major party of the month will be Saturday, Nov. 26, when "Ye Olde Fashioned Schnitzel Fest” will take place. Food, music and fun will be featured. Two Slightly Hurt As Auto Hits Tree Two Decatur young men escaped serious injury Wednesday evening when the driver, Jack McDonald, 22, lost control of the car, which swerved off sfate road 1, three miles north of Bluffton, and struck a tree. McDonald suffered bruises and abrasions, and a passenger, Robert Hifi-st, 18, sustained a head laceration and bruises and abrasions.
Cold Weather Slows Building Activity WASHINGTON (INS) —The government said today that cold weather caused a seasonal decline of four percent in construction activity during October. “ Despite the drop, however, building was at an all-time high for the month, 1)1 percent over a year ago at 3.9 billion dollars.
