TRI KAPPAS HOLD BUSINESS MEETING The Alpha Sigma chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa held their third business meeting tor the 1955-1966 season Tuesday evening at the Decatur Youth and Community Center. The meeting was opened by repeating the club verse, after which roll was called with 35 members present. During the business meeting it was decided to have the annual Tri Kappa pecan sale, although the price has gone up considerably this year. The Tri Kappa Christmas doll was also displayed with several of its outfits, and members wishing to sew for it were reminded to call Mrs. Evelyn Detter. Pamphlets with Christmas gift suggestions for the mental hospitals in Indiana were also distributed to the members. Tri Kappa members were also reminded of the rummage sale this Friday and Saturday at the Mies building. It is being sponsored by the associate chapter, and members wanting to contribute rummage are asked to take it to the Mies building Thursday or call Mrs. Mildred Kocher,,and she will arrange to have it picked up. Invitations for the November 15 social meeting, at which time the active chapter will entertain the associate chapter, were given out. The committee in charge of this meeting consists of Mrs. Ruth Harper, Mrs. Dorothy Schnepf, Mrs. Katherine August, and Miss Gwen Hilyard. INITIATION SERVICES HELD BY WOMEN OF THE MOOSE The Women of the Moose recently initiated a class of candidates at the Moose home. A short business meeting was held before the initiation. Mooseheart chairman, Violet Sheets and her committee, were in charge of the social hour following the initiation. The attendance prize was received by Helen Liechty and the door prize went to Doris Leonard. The next meeting will be held November 10, with library chairman, Mary Fisher in charge of the chapter night program. MEETING IS HELD BY GIRL SCOUT ASSOCIATION The Decatur Girl Scout association met at the Youth and Community Center recently. Regional songs were taught to the group by Mrs. Chester Dalzell. Reports of the board member training convention were given by Mrs. Wation Maddox and ••Mrs. Byfon Smith. Mrs. Robert Railing and Mrs. Kennetji Small discussed the plans for the senior round-up to be held in June of 1956. Mrs. William Schnepf was elected vice-presi-dent to replace Mrs. Al ax Spencer. Mrs. W. L. Harper was named secretary and Mrs. William Brown was elected to the nominating committee to replace Mrs. Jay Thacker.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED BY EAGLES AUXILIARY The fifth anniversary of the past presidents was recently celebrated by the Eagles auxiliary 2653. During the social hour contests were enjoyed and prizes were won by Mrs. Arhur Irvin, Mrs. Eva Zuer of Van Wert, and Mrs. Lewis Fruchey of Van Wert. Gail Ainsworth of Decatur won the anniversary prize. The next meeting will be held Tuesday November 8. at 8 o’clock in the Eagles hall. Members of the Sancta Marla study club will meet at the home of Mrs. Fred Bashara at 8 o'clock tonight Mrs. Leo Teeple will present the study. The horticultural students of Purdue University have extended an invitation to the Rose Garden club, to attend the 32nd annual horticultural show, November 4. 5, and 6, at Purdue University. The show will be held in the horticultural building and green house on the campus of the uriTversity on Friday from 1 p. m. to 9 p. m.; Saturday from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. and Sunday from 1 p. m. to 6 p. m. Admission is free. The Monroe W. S. C. S. will meet in the Methodist church annex. Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. W. S. W. S. unit one of the Bethany E, U. The Welcome Wagon club met last evening at Hanna-Nuttman park with 13 members and their husbands present. A potluck supper was enjoyed by the group and Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Sieling receiv-' ed the door prize. After the supper the evening was spent in making ornaments for the Christmas tiee which will be placed on the court house square. Mrs. John Girard will be hostess to the Sacred Heart study club Monday evening at 8 o’clock. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lehrman of Monroeville are the parents of a baby girl born Tuesday at 4:34 p. m., weighing eight pounds and one ounce. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Koeneman of Decatur Tuesday at 10:09 p. m., weighing seven pounds and five ounces.
