No date has been sot for the gala dedication of Decatur's million and a quarter dollar diesel experiment Maybe we can have a joint dedication of the diesel and the broom. If and when they work. o—o The City of Decatur is almost a million dollars in debt Perhaps it's time for us all to ask, when Is this spending going to stop* Will it be after we buy the broom* < o o Residents of Homewood tion and other parts of the northwest section of Decatur are going through that painful process of paying sewer assessments. What about decent streets out there? What about street lighting facilities’ What about making the people of that part of Decatur equal citizens* They pay equal taxes. o o The annual school directory of Adams county will soon be ready fdr distribution. The pamphlet containing the names and addresses of all teachers in Adams county, also has other valuable information including a roster of county officials and important school dates. Supervision of publication of the book is in charge of Gail Grabill, county superintendent of schools. L — O' 0 Robert Frisinger, assistant postmaster in Decatur has completed his annual trip over every mail route in the city. Federal regulations require that this trip be made annually and a complete check of mail delivery is made. Postmaster Leo kirsch has made a similar trip oa the parcel post • -routes. -We are sure thht' •
