MRS. GUS BOHNKE IS HOSTESS TO MEETING Mrs. Ous Bohnke was recently hostess to the Root township home demonstration club. Mrs. Ralph Rice gave the history of the song of the month, “Hail Purdue." Those present repeated the club piayer in unison. "Waiting for the Baby” was the safety lesson presented by Mrs. John Magley. “Wall to Wall Treatment" was presented by the leaders. Mrs. Norbert Aumann and Mrs. Adolph Weidler. The group decided to donate $5 to the mental health program. Election of officers was held with the following being elected: president, Mrs. Mary Jane Runyon; vice-president. Mm/Harold Owena; secretary. Mrs. John Magley; assistant secretary. Mrs. Neva Miller; treasurer. Mrs. Robert Johnson; assistant treasurer, Mrs. Norbert Aumann; first leader, Mrs. Richard Harkless; alternate. Mrs. Robert Carr; second leader. Mrs. Harold Owens; alternate. Mrs. Leo King. Following the business meeting a luncheon was served to 27 meml>ers and three children by Mrs. Richard Moses and Mrs. Adolph Weidler. Mrs. Robert Carr won the door prize. THREE LINK CLUB MEETS TUESDAY EVENING The Three Link club held a regular social meeting after lodge Tuesday night, with 19 members present. Plans tor a Christinas party were made and the date set for December 13. Mrs. Nancy Lengerieh was appointed chairman of the committee. CHURCH TO HOLD FALL FESTIVAL OCT. » Saturday. October 29, is the date set for the Zion E. and R. annual fall festival. The all day affair, which will bo held in the church basement, will feature a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.B. and an evening meal in the form of a cafeteria. to be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A bazaar will be held in the new Sunday school room of the church featuring various booths of baked goods, canned goods, handmade aprons, towels, pillowcases, etc. Many good suggestions tor Christmas gifts will be available. SUNNY CIRCLE CLUB MEETS AT PREBLE TUESDAY The Preble • recneation center was tbe scene of a meeting held by the Sunny Circle home demoni stration club, Tuesday evening. I The meeting was opened with the members repeating the club creed. Devotions were conducted by Mrs. Orley Barkley. The history of the song of the month was read by Mrs. Elmer Peters and then sung by the group. “Interior Paints and Painting" was the lesson presented by the leaders, Mrs. Arthur Koeneman and Mrs. Ervin Buuck. The constitutions of the county and Sunny Circle home demonstration club were read by the president, Mrs. Truman Goldner. and secretary, i Mrs. Robert Beery. DELTA THETA TAU SORORITY MEETS Mrs. Leland Smith was hostess to the Delta Theta Tau sorority Tuesday evening. The business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Llyle Mallonee. Money making projects were discussed and it was decided to have a white elephant auction at the next meeting. The mooting was closed with the Delta ceremony, after which games were played aud prizes won by Mrs. Rosie Stover and Mrs. Jesse Newton. Mrs. Jane Lybarger was then pleasantly surprised with a baby shower and she received many lovely gifts for her new son. Refreshments in keeping with the Halloween season were served to the group by the hostess, who was assisted by Mrs. Vivian Krick. The next meeting will be November k. at eight o’clock. ' MRS ROY FRIEDLEY HOSTESS TO MEETING TUESDAY NIGHT The second meeting of Decatur’s Fat and Fickle club was held Tuesday at the heme of Mrs. Roy Friedley. A welcome and get acquainted talk was presented by Mary Lou Shaw of the Fort Wayne club, after which Mrs. Friedley addressed the group. Tbe evening was sphnt in signing up new members, making a total of 16 members at the present time. Games were played and prizes were won by Barbara Haggard, Marie Lord, and Margaret Beal. Helen Cozier won the door prize. The club will continue to meet each Tuesday evening at 1127 Nuttmsn avenue. Anyone wishing to become a member is invited to attend the next meeting. ELECTION OF OFFICERS HELD BY DEMONSTRATION CLUB - , The St. Mary's township home demonstration club met Tuesday evening at the Pleasant Mills school hour for a Halloween party. The best masked prize went to Mrs. Ben McCullough, Mrs. Clarence Black, and Mrs. Roy Price. Tbe meeting wus conducted by the president, Mrs. Carl Frey, and 41 members answered roll call. Mrs. Ralph Hackney was welcomed into the group as a new member and Mrs. Darrel Clouse gave the final report on the club tour to Fort Wayne. Mrs. Lee Custer presented a report on the lesson which was held at Monroe Tuesday. "Wall Preparation and Wall Finisher,” was the lesson presented by Mrs. Clarence Black. The following officers were elected at the meeting: president, Mrs. ’Carl Frey; vice-presjt’ent. Mrs. John King; secretary, Mrs. Darrel Clouse; assistant. Mrs. Roy Price; treasurer. Mrs. Glenn Mann was awarded the door prize and refreshments were served by the Mesdames Will Evanc, Leland Ray, Joe Hahuert, and Harry Martz. PLEASANT MILLS M.Y.F. COLLECTS FOR U.N.I.C.E.F. The Pleasant Mills Methodist M. Y. F. held a Halloween masquerade party in the church basement Tuesday evening. While still masked, the group divided into two sections and went "Trick or Treating.” for the U. N. I. C. E. F. After returning to the church, prizes were awarded to Sheldon Light and Barbara Geisler. Games were then played and refreshments served to ten members and six guests. A total of sl4 was collected for the U. N. I. C E. F. drive which is being sponsored by the M. Y. F. groups all over the area. The Intermediate class of., the Union Chapel Sunday school will have a Halloween party Friday night at the home of Mrs. Robert Fplk. Main feature for the evening will be raising funds io help buy much needed beds, mattresses. W - W Jhe byye thechildren’s home sponsored by the denomination.
