Pork Consumption To Hit New Record Abundant Supply Os Pork h Predicted INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — Pork consumption in America and Indiana is expected te roach record heights tn the next 13 months. The Indiana farmer • retailer committee, composed of representatives of the Indiana Farm Bureau, Purdue University and various wholesale and retail food organizations made the prediction. Chairman George Doup, whose recently formed committee was designed to bring about a more orderly marketing of Hoosier farm products, said: “In Indiana, over 110,000 farmers produce pork. During this winter season, these farmers are marketing an increased number of hogs. That and the emphasis on quality add up to an abundant supply of good lean pork for consumers.” The committee found about nine per cent more pigs were saved last spring than a year earlier while pork storage last August was five per cent above the same time a year ago, The price of hogs last July was 18 per cent under the price 12 months earlier. During the next six months, an unusually large supply of hogs laexpected to be marketed, making attractive opportunities for consumers. Chicago — About 95 percent of accidental electrocution victims in the U. 3. are men. Washington — There are abgut 1,200,000 high school graduates in the U. S. annually. Ahout 23 percent of Sweden's people are under age 15.
