MRS. LOH NAS McINTOSH IS HOSTESS TO MEETING Mrs. Lohnas Mclntosh was hostess to the Decatur home demonstration club Wednesday afternoon. The regular meeting was opened with the group repeating the club creed and club song. During the business meeting the group voted to donate to the community fund. The safety lessen was given by Mrs. Paul Daniels. Election of officers was held with the following results: president. Mrs. ’Grover Levy; vice-president, Mrs. Joseph Hunter; secretary, Mrs. Walter Lister; assistant seo retary, Mrs. Clarence Drake; first leader, Mrs. Carl Barnett; second leader, Mrs. O. K. Baker; and alternate leaders, Mrs. Paul Daniels and Mrs. Floyd Arnold. Mrs. Wilter Lister presented the lesson of the month to the group. A poem and contest about trees was held and Mrs.. Floyd Arnold won the prise. Mrs. Henry Adler received the door prise. A social hour followed and the hostess was assisted by Mrs. Clarence Drake, Mrs. -Charles Bieneke, Mrs. Frank Clingenpeel, and Mrs. Glen Rambo. LADIES SHAKESPEARE CLUB HOLDS MEETING WEDNESDAY Wednesday afternoon, the Ladies Shakespeare club met at the home of Mrs. Dan Tyndall. The business meeting was conducted by the president, Miss Bertha Heller. v A report on the federation meeting was given by Mrs. R. C. Hersh. Leader for the afternoon, Mrs. Arthur Suttles, gave an interesting paper cm Columbia and Ecuador. Candies were served by the hostess at the close of the meeting. DECATUR 4-H GIRLS TO BE HONORED AT SUPPER The Decatur 4-H girls, who completed their projects this year, will be honored Tuesday at 6 o’clock with a carry-in supper at the Youth and Community Center. The parents and leaders of the girls are invited to attend this supper. Guest speaker for the evening will be the (Rev. Virgil Sexton, pastor of the First Methodist church. Miss Bertha Landis, home demonstration agent, will present the honor pins and books. The 4-H girls are requested to bring table service and a covered dish. The drinks will be furnished, ' .X. ' *. ■ - EVENING CIRCLE TWO MEETS TUESDAY Evening circle two of the First Methodist church met Tuesday evening in the church lounge, with the president, Mrs. Francis Towell, presiaing. Mrs. Kathryn Nelson gave the devotions and the lesson on the American Indian. Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Miss Bernice Nelson, Miss Ive Gilpin, Miss Helen Haubold, and Mrs. Floyd Reed. Joint Meeting Os Lutherans Sunday The fall joint meeting of the Decatur eircuit Lutheran laymen's league and the Lutheran women's missionary league will be held at Suburban Trinity Lutheran church on Route 27 Sunday evening at 8 p. m. The Rev. Herman Lindemann of Redeemer Lutheran church of Fort Wayne will be the guest speaker. Separate business meetings will be heM. Four Brooklyn Boys Charged In Murder 16-Year-Old Youth Is Stabbed To Death NEW YORK (INS) —Four Brooklyn teenagers were charged early today with stabbing to death with a penknife and screwdriver a 16-year old boy, who reportedly quit a rival gang and became a Boy Scout. Four other youths — three 14 and one 13—who assertediy helped trap the victim. /Warren Beck, outside his Home. Were charged with juvenile delinquency. Beck was stabbed twice in the lower abdomen, after he had a quarrel with’ the gang members over whether he had “told stories" that one of them had sold a shotgun to a rival gang, police said.

Rockford Police Chief Fined Here Even law officers make mistakes sometimes and one who did yesterday in Decatur was willing to pay for IL William G. John Bacquet of Mansfield, 0., backed into a parking meter at about 10:30 a. m. today on Madison street. Only damage was to the meter. GIRL SCOUT The first meeting of Brownie troop seven was held at the Lincoln school Wednesday. The meeting was called to order and there were 11 girls present. Election of officers was held as follows: president, Alma Joyce Meyers; secretary-treasurer, Julie Rich; and scribe, Sherry Lynn Mansfield. Games, songs and refreshments were enjoyed by all. (INS) —lndiana and Ohio police today searched for two youths who forced their way into the lake cottage bf Mrs. Elsie Ezard. beat and robbed her of S7OO and left her bound so tightly she was still trussed up when found 12 hours later. The 48-year-old woman was found lying on the ground about 200 feet from her cottage by a neighbor about noon Wednesday. She had crawled the distance during the night and morning.
