Next year will be another "leap” year end a record breaker for the guys trying to cross the street la front of cars aad trucks. 0 0 The Friday morning frost was not of the “extra killing variety'*, bet probably was the fore runner of a harder one in a few days. It’s that time of year and farmers of the area say they are ready tor the colder weather. Remember! Every person is entitled to vote for five candidates for council. Four of the candidates on each ticket are required to reside in the district which they seek to represent, but each is elected by all the voters of the city. —io o>— Autumn weather io here ta all Its glory. If you like the deep colors of fall, don't fail to spend a few hours driving around the Countryside. The less travelled toads offer more leisurely driving and more beautiful colors than the heavy traffic highways. d « More than a thousand merchants and residents of the Decatur shopping area spent a joyful two hours at the annual Chamber of Commerce Fish Fry Thursday night Tho crowd was In a jovial spirit to witness one of the finest programs ever given hire, ft was an excellent turn-out and those who attended were well pleased with the way the big crowd was taken care of. It is inevitable that Decatur will have to construct a sewage disposal plant In the near future. A story, almost tow absurd to relate, Is making the rounds, "that The Dally Democrat will not publish advertisements for blds, nor will it accept some political advertisements from the Republicans. The fact that both are untrue can be seen almost every Week, when such advertisements appear. The only advertisement Which this newspaper refuses is that which is considered untrue or that which suggests immoral-, tty. Editorially, this newspaper ia Democratic. From a news standpoint, everyone is treated alike and if John Doe, Democrat or if John Doe, a relative Is arrested, that will be published the same as aay other news item. We conduct a "Peoples Voice" column, and we offer that column to any of our readers, as long aa the article is signed and not liberons.
