Rural Youth Plan - 1956 Activities i Program Outlined At Thursday Meet The 1956 program for the Adams county rural youth was jiccepted by the members of the rural youth club at the regular meeting held last evening at the Youth and Community Center. Tom Noll. 1956 president, pressented the following program: November. ThankeiXving banquet and dance with installation of officers; December. Christmas caroling and toy exchange with alkies of Christmas in many lands; January, international farm youth exchange meeting; February. Valentine party with group discussion on the social life of young people: March, senior night with panel discussion on "What Rural Youth Means To Me"; April, sports and game night with speech "What Makes You Tick”; May, tour of the telephone company; June, ice cream frolic with talk on "Highway Safety" by state trooper; July, hamburger fry and election of officers; August, family night supper with panel discussion on “Likes and Dislikes”; September, bayride and wiener "bake; October, Halloween masquerade party with talk on "Citizenship and Voting"; November, candy pull with packing boxes for members in service. Special activities will include: New Year’s Eve party, hockey game, weekend trip; all-day summer outing, bowling party, professional basketball game, weekend camp and skating party. ducted the business meeting, with Bob Yoder giving the devotions and Gloria Koeneman leading the group singing. Plans were made to attend the Purdue • Michigan State football game at Lafayette November 5. All members were urged to attend the district meeting to be held at the Ossian high school gym Monday night. Earl Yoder and Bob Yoder were appointed to the registration committee. Features of the meeting will be the election of officers, judging the county news letters and the district talk meet. Announcements were made concerning the state rural youth convention in Indiana November 9 and the Wabash county square dance Saturday at the 4-H building in Wabasfr." Reports were given ny all the officers attending the officers training workshop at the community center this past week-end. A report on state rural youth camp at Merom Institute was also given. The educational feature of the meeting was in the form yf a talk fest with members giving threeminute talks on some interesting experience they had encountered. Many new folk games and square, dances were taught by Sally Me. Sullough. Gloria and Roger Koane man. Refreshments and a friendship circle adjourned the meeting. The FBI is in on the case unofficially, pending a formal order from Washington. Two men living in the Crane area who have records as sex deviates were being questioned. Efforts were made to follow tips which came from Indianapolis and other cities about a little boy resembling Ronnie being seen. Indiana prison officials checked their records to see if there were any recent escapees who might have records as sex deviates or women with a "maternal complex” but reported thejf could find nothing of value. Ice boxes, caves, culverts, storm sewers, automobiles, and houses all have been searched in addition to the surrounding terrain, which* Is hilly and wooded.
