BL i A W WWm Wv a Ww- Ok WW* WtW wSNr WBL JU w ...... _ ... of Commerce fish fry Thursday at 6:30 o’clock in the large Decatur high school auditorium. t The 30-volce vocal group will sing "Nothing Like a Dame" from the stage success, "South Pacific.” They will also present a College Medley," and a group of ever-popular favorites including “Lucky, Lucky,” "Lone Prairie," and "Menagerie.” The full-hour program has been arranged by M. J. Pryor. Decatur district manager of NIPSCO. The public appearance of the NIPSCO male chorus in Decatur will be its first of the current fall season. The group often appears oefore community organizations in northern Indiana in concerts, and on radio and television programs. Members of the vocal group include NIPSCO engineers, substation operators, servicemen, department supervisors, clerics, accountants, metermen, linemen, and managers. The present membership represents more than 500 years of service with the company. John W. Powll is the featured solo tenor and the accompanist for the chorus is Mrs. Robert R. Groves. The well known musical organization is directed by W. J. Hoel, former director of an armed forces dance band and the University or Illinois "Singing Illlni” men’s glee club. Besides leading the chorus in dong, Hoel supervises vocal music at Rich township high school in Park Forest, 111. He is also board chairman of the Park Forest Conservatory of Music. Many of the members who originally joined the chorus when it was organized in 1938 are still singing with the group.

Karl Reinking was reappointed as the congregation's Lutheran laymen’s league membership secretary. The nominating committee’s slate of officers was accepted, but additional names may be added until the election at the annual meeting December 4. A special meeting of the assembly is to be called soon with the date to be selected by the officers, to determine whether ’a man or lady teacher is to be hired. William Gernand. Two Plead Guilty In Mayor's Court Two Decatur men entered pleas of guilty to charges in city court this morning. A 60-day sentence on Herbert Wolfe, 43, of Stevenson street, was suspended. Wolfe was arrested Saturday evening at his home on a charge of disorderly conduct. Louis Stettler, 26, of Thirteenth street, was fined 35 and costs on a charge of public intoxication. Investigate Fatal Shooting At Shoals SHOALS, Ind. (IN'S) —Sheriff Tommy Arvin of Martin county today investigated the fatal shooting of Otto Braun, 53, of Shoals. The body of Braun, snot to death with a .32 caliber pistol, was found Oct. 9, but police were unable to determine if the wound had been self-administered or if accident or foul play were involved.

Two Men Injured As Plane Crashes MISHAWAKA, Ind. (INS) —Two men nursed head cuts today as the result of a plane crash blamed on a rough runway. Injured were Julius Werbrouck. Jr., 27, of Mishaiwake, the pilot, and Eygene Letouneau, 40, Elkhart, his passenger. State police said a rough spot on the runway at the Mishawaka Pilots club airport
