Hitch Develops In Morocco New Deal Postpone Delivery Os Letter To Sultan PARIS (INS)—The French government's ‘‘committee of five” met today to try to overcome the last minute hitch in the implementation of Premier Edgar Faure'a Moroccan new deal plan. The hitch developed when Faure was forced to postpone delivery of a letter to Moroccan Sultan Eldi Mohammed Ben Moulay Arafa suggesting that he step down from the throne. The letter from French President Rene Coty was viewed as the * first step in settling the Moroccan crisis but its delivery was postponed as the result of foreign minister Antoine Pinny's heated opposition. In addition. FaureTs Instructions to Lt Gen. Food Poisoning Is Fatal To Two Men End Investigation Os Elwood Deaths ELWOOD. Ind. (INS) — A three pronged investigation into the deaths of two elderly men who lived together in Elwood ended today with a report that food poisoning apparently was the cause of the fatalities. The work of state, city and county investigators was complicated by the fact that Lawrence Van Briggle. 74. and James Dinwiddle, 67, had been dead about five days at the time tbeir bodies were found Monday. Neighbors of the two men became worried after they did not see them for several days and broke into the bouse to make the tragic discovery. At first investigators thought the men had been asphyxiated by gas, but this thepry was discounted when all vents were found turned off. Funeral services were held today for Dinwiddle, who had moved into Van Briggle’s home three weeks ago. He was a native of Bulls Gap, Tenn. Van Briggle, a native of Tipton county, Ind., was buried Tuesday. _ t Monument Circle Closed To Traffic INDIANAPOLIS (INS) —Monument Circle in the center of Indianapolis will be closed to traffic for the second time this summer beginning Monday. 1 Eailier, approaches to the Circle were paved and the area was blocked. Unfortunately, the state was unable to contract to have the Circle paved when the city had the approaches paved. So buses will be rerouted beginning Monday and the. Circle will be closed while a 3(f day, $80,449 resurfacing project gets started. Greenberg Signs To Stay At Cleveland WASHINGTON (INS) — Cleveland Indians president Myron Wilson announced in Washington today that General Manager Hank Greenberg has signed a one-year. contract carrying him through the 1956 season.

Appeal Union Shop Clause In Contract Appeal Scheduled To Appellate Court INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — The question of whether the union shop clause in a national contract between General Motors and the CIO United Auto Workers is unconstitutional was scheduled to be appealed to the Indiana appellate court today. George Rose, attorney for Vernon R. Smith, an Allison Division GM employe, said that he will file the appeal today In the state’s next to highest court.

Arthur Godfrey In Trouble With CAA Formal Complaint From Two Pilots CHICAGO (INS) — Arthur Godfrey is back in hot water with the civil aeronautics administration. The Chicago CAA safety office started an investigation Tuesday of a formal complaint by two commercial pilots that Godfrey's twin engine DC-3 craft crowded their plane on takeoff from Chicago’s midway airport last Wednesday, nearly causing a collision. In New York, an agent for Godfrey said the TV star was not piloting the ship at the time. Godfrey, himself, could not be reached for comment, however. The complaint against the Godfrey craft was made by t*e pilot t sm# v w<pfit)t of an Orarlr airlines DC-3 passenger plane which took off a minute before Godfrey’s. The pilots — Capt. Robert T. Brown and first officer R. C. Ford Brown and first officer R. C. Ford of St. Louis — charged that Godfrey’s souped up plane caught the airliner shortly after takeoff, hung 100 feet off the passenger plane's right for about 30 seconds and then increased speed and crossed abruptly in front of it. Greater Assistance Needed By Veterans INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — Indiana’s 11th district congressman Charles Brownson told a banquet session of World War I Veterans that more assistance must be given armed forces vets. The Indianapolis Republican said the nation’s future economic and' moral security depends on a program of greater assistance to the veterans.

Kiyoshi Tanimoto, pastor of the Nagaregaws United Christian church at Hiroshima, Japan, will speak at the Willshire, 0., Methodist church Saturday evening at 8 o’clock. (INS) —A 3S-year-old Muncie woman was killed instantly today when her car left U. S. 35 a mile north of Muncie, at high speed, rolled over two lawns and overturned into a ditch.
