MISS JOAN DOWLING IS BRIDE OF LEON KUCEK Mtes Joan Dowling. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Dowling of Gary, formerly of thia city, became the bride of Leon Kucek of Gary, Saturday In the Sacred Heart church of Gary. The bride chose an ice blue waltz length gown and carried a white orchid on a mother of pearl prayer book. Her only attendant wore a rose colored gown similar to that of the bride and carried a cascade of ruhbrum lUiea The bride was employed at St. Catherine's hospital, before her marriage, where she graduated from nurse’s training. After a two week honeymoon throuh Michigan, the couple will reside in Gary. Out of town guests included Mrs. Charles Voglewede and Mrs. Charles Holthouse of Decatur. Only five of the 18 applicants were chosen to fill the co-op house which houses a total of 24 girls from all parts oflndiana. Twin Pines was made possible by contributions from the Indiana Home Demonstration association including many from the Adams county clubs. Girls selected to live in the house, apply through their local home demonstration councils. Donna was valedictorian of the 1954 graduating class at Monmouth high school. Since graduation she has been working at the office of Jocelyn Steel company in Fort Wayne and haj attended Purdue university center. MISS JOY ANN JAMES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry James of Decatur, was recently married to Laßelle Lee Corle, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaDrew Corle of Portland, in the Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Walter Bauer officiating for the double-ring ceremony. The bride is a graduate of Union City West Side high school and was employed at the Central Soya company in Decatur, before'her marriage. Her husband was graduated from Portland high school and is presently employed at Uhrick’s Plumbing and Electric company in Portland. Miss Rosemary Graber of Geneva, route one, underwent an operation at the Wells county hospital yesterday. The Fulton Glass company located at Geneva, established there in 1946 has been removed to Hartford City and the building at Geneva is being offered for sale. J. Jerome Yager, Berne business man has been cited to appear in justice of the peace court there today to answer charges of permitting his daughter, Judy 16, a minor, to operate his car. Mr. and Mrs. James Lough of Decatur became the parents of a baby girl bom today at 9:10 a.m. weighing eight pounds and eight ounces.
