Miss Rita Ann Heiman Is Married To Daniel J. Gerber This Morning Miss Rita Ann Heiman, daughter of tyr. and Mrs. Jacqb C. Heiman of route four, Decatur, became'thi bride of Daniel J. Gerber, eon of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gerber of route one, Berne, this morning at 9 o'clock in the St. Mary’s Catholic church. The Rev. Robert Contant officiated at the double-ring ceremony. ,

Vases of white glads and pink asters adorned the church altar. The musicale was presented by Sr. M. Marguerta, C. S. A., organist. Selections were: “Processional,” by Rossini; “Missa Tertla,” by Haller; and “Ava Marie," by Arcadela. "O Beautiful Mother,” was sung when the bride placed flowers at the blessed Virgin’s altar. The bride chose a gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over satin. The strapless bodice was topped with a Spencer jacket having a rounded collar and long tapering sleeves. The waltz-length skirt of deeply scalloped lace was highlighted by a fully gathered tulle flounce. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a prayerbook topped with an orchid. Miss Mary Heiman, sister of the bride, attended as maid-of-honor in a ballerina length gown of pink lace over taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline, cap sleeves and a wide taffeta cummerbund. The bouffant skirt was circular. A half hat of

Fred Heiman, brother of the bride, served as best man and ushers were Charles Heiman; brother of the bride, and Ronald Gerber, brother of tbe bridegroom. The bride’s mother chose a navy blue dress with white accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore nwy blue with accessories also. A dinner was held at the Fairway restaurant and the reception will be held at the K. of C. hall from 2 to 4 o’clock this afternoon with 150 guests expected. Servers include Ann Marie Lengerich, Joan Laurent, Jqanne Brown, and Delores Braun. The bride is a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and Ts employed at Coppess Corner. Her husband was graduated from Adams Central high school and is working for Art Lengerich. The couple will reside on route one, Monroe. PLEASANT MILLS W. S. C. S. IN RECENT MEETING The Pleasant Mills Methodist W. S. C, S. met recently at the home of Mrs. Leland Ray. The president, Mrs. Clyde Jones, conducted the meeting, after which Mrs. Leland Ray played the song "Brotherhood." and prayer was offered by Mrs. George Foor. Following the business meeting. Mrs. Frieda (Golliff read the W. 8. C. 8. goals for the coming year. Refreshments were served to 15 members and two children, by Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Addie Hahnert, and Mrs. Elmer Golliff. LYNN DUANE GARNER HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Mr. and Mrs. Torn Garner entertained recently with a dinner honoring their youngest son, Lynn Duane, on his first birthday, at the home of Lynn’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur H. Robinson. Colored pictures were taken during the evening. Lynn received many gifts and thpse present included Tommy Garner, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur H. Robinson and children Ronnie, Karen, and Gary; Mr, and Mrs. Gene Vetter and daughter Cynthia. Those unable to attend were Miss Marilyn Garner and Jim Prey. SHOWER GIVEN IN HONOR OF MISS ANITA ENDINGER - A miscena.ilecus shower was held Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Ralph Hackney in honor of Miss Anita Endinger. A bride doll was used for the table centerpiece and lime and white streamers were used throughout. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Doris Burkhead, Mrs. Pauline Haggard, Mrs. Laurel Haggard, Mrs. June Rhodes, Mrs. C. W. Schwartz, Miss Betty Smith, and Miss Ardola Parrish, who in turn presented them to the honored guest. — Miss Endinger then opened her many gifts and refreshments were served by the hostess, assited by Eleanore Bieberich, to the 25 guests present. Three were not able to attend. The Decatur high school graduating class of 1954 will hold a class reunion Sunday at Lake Lavine, with a potluck dinner being featured at noon. The reunion will be held at the Custer cottage on Lake Lavine. Members of the Rebekah lodge will hold a regular meeting Tuesday evening in the Odd Fellows hall at 7:30 o’clock. The Delta Theta Tau sorority will hold a business and social meeting Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Harriet Mallonee of 310 Stratton, at 8 o’clock. The 1955 graduating class of Decatur high school will have a. class reunion, Sunday at 6 o'clock, at Hanna-Nuttman park. Members are asked to bring a covered dish and their own weiners and buns.

Mrs. Yager and Mrs. Smith will accompany their husbands to detroit. Burglars entered the Bluffton Country club, north of Bluffton Friday morning and got away with eight cases of whiskey valued at SSOO and about S3OO in cash taken from various machines. They did considerable damage and police are looking for them. Harold (Tim) Murphy of Decatur has accepted a position as manager of the Bowling Center, south of Bluffton. Murphy is well kno.wn in Decatur and will open the ten alleys at Bluffton next week. He succeeds Art Digest, who has taken a position as manager of the Knights of Columbus alleys in Fort Wayne. Phyllis Sprunger Winner Os Title Os Miss American Fence Miss Phyllis Sprunger, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vietpr Sprunger of Monroe route one and a graduate of Berne high school, won the title of Miss American Fence for Adams county in judging Friday night during the dance at the Decatur Youth and Community Center. Miss Sprunger, who competed with about 25 other Adams county girls, will now enter the finals at Wabash Sept. 10 to be held In connection with tbe nationitl plowing eontest. The winner of sjx entrants at Wabash will receive a weekend at Chicago and a 1250 gift certificate at Marshall Fields. The local prize was a wrist watch. Judges for the local contest were Mrs. William Gass. Mrs. Roy Kalver and John H. Young# All single girls of the county between the ages of 10 and 31 were eligible to compete. The contest was sponsored locally by the Monroe Grain and Supply company.

At the Adams county memorial hospital Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moser of Linn Grove became the parents of a baby girl born Friday at 9:45 p. m., weighing four pounds and seven ounces. Get Acquainted Meet For I. U. Freshmen New freshrmen students from seven counties, who wjll enter Indiana University next month, will attend a “get acquainted" meeting at 7:30 p. m., Aug. 25 at the I. U. extension center at Ft. Wayne. The students and their parents, from Allen, DeKalb, Steuben, Whitley, Adams, Weis and Huntington counties, will meet with representatives of I. U.’s junior (freshman) division and alumni association. Purpose of tbe meeting is to answer all questions of students and parents concerning the university.

Auction Sole Nets Profit Os SI,OOO The auction sale eo-aponaored by the ladies of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Reppert school of auctioneering brought in a profit of about 11.000, according to a report by onjiprs of the Rosary society who were in charge. The sale was conducted by the students of the school Saturday afternoon and Wednesday night. AH proceeds are turned over to the church fund- The sale has become an annual August project of the ladies of the parish. Gift Is Presented To Cancer Society A check far *IOO in cash to be used in their effort to control cancer has been sent to Miss Joan Wemhoff, president of the Adams county cancer society by Mrs. Rachael Mallonee in memory of Mrs. Margaret Sheets, it was learned today. The money was placed in the general fund of tho local cancer society. Miss Wemhoff stated, and will be used by the group locally as the need may arise. Mrs.' Sheets died last week after an illness of several months. Death resulted from capcer, and her long time friend, Mrs. Mallonee, made the contribution in her memory.
