Windfall Profits . For Householders » Likely To Profit From Rood Change r INDIANAPOLIS (INS) — Winde fall profits are coming to 54 Lake P county householders from the Inr, dlana toll road commission. . I, Many months ago the connnls(l sion bought 54 houses at an avery age tost of 115.000 each, the proe ject involving more than $1 milp lion. Then the east west toll road was relocated, leaving the commission D with the 54 unwanted houses. t- The commission has announced f that the houses will be sold at J public auction and indications are y that the original owners will buy r them back at considerably less ■> than the commission paid for the lt domiciles. - Most or xne Householders have 3 not moved and have been paying '' the commission very low rents, I most of them lower than the r monthly payments made by the > persons buying their houses on II the installment plan. Most of the 6 houses are in Hammond and Gary, t But Albert J. Wedeking. commission director, looked for the silver lining and. as usual, found it. He said any loss from the transaction would be more than made up for by the road relocar tion. The new route is through more open country, reducing construction costs, according to Wedeking. Uneasy Argentina Is Under Warning Stern Measures Are Promised By Peron BUENOS AIRES (INS) — Uneasy Argentina was under warning today that the government will deal sternly with anyone taking part in public demonstrations against the regime of President Juan D. Peron. The warning followed two new anti-Peron outbreaks Wednesday in Buen&s Aires which were broken up by black jack wielding police, tear gas and fire hoses. Minister of the interior Oscar Albrieu called a special news con--1 ference Wednesday night and blamed the disturbances on gangs of youths who he said were incited by .‘some priests” and opposition party leaders. Albrieu said 64 persons were arrested during Wednesday’s riots, including 19 youths, and he warned parents that from now on young rioters would not be let off easily. He accused Homan Catholic priests of fomenting much of the anti-Peron activities and warned they would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law if they did not stop. He said the priests were acting as individuals adding that he was ready to turn over their names and transcripts of their subversive sermons to church authorities. FLOOD THREATS (Oontlnuod from page One) swept through the southern states. It is unknown yet how much damage was caused in other states on the edge of the hurricane. REORGANIZING (Continues from Cage One) as enrollments increase, teaches adjustments are accomplished and building facilities are expanded. HUGE CHEESE (Continued from Page One) “indicate very poor judgement on the part of those concerned" and called on agriculture secretary Ebra Taft Benson to recover the two million dollar windfall from the companies. He said>the deals violated the intent of congres because the dairy subsidy money should have gone to' farmers instead of to the firms. 2,000 KOREANS (Continued from Hage One) the causeway to hold them away." It was the third flareup of violence in the past 24 hoars, ending three days of non-violent demonstrations on the part of South Koreans backing up Syngman Rhee’s demand that the truce inspection teams leave Korea.
