MISS DORIS KRUECKEBERG BRIDE OF HOWARD MARTIN At 5 o’clock Saturday evening, in the Zion Lutheran church, Miss Doris Krueckeberg was married to Howard F. Martin, with the Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt officiating, and only the immediate families attending. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krueckeberg of 1227 Monroe street and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Honpra Martin of route one, Monroeville. Miss Krueckeberg was attired in a princess style dress of beige faille. The gored skirt was adorned with insets of velvet ribbon with scattered seed pearls and rhinestones. She wore a small white hat and carried a white Bible topped with a purple throated orchid. Mrs. Max Reed of Warsaw attended the bride as matron-of-honor in a summer floral print on blue silk dress and a large picture hat. She carried a spray of white glads. .. Robert Krueckeberg attended the bridegropm as best man. A dinner was held immediately after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents. A reception was held at 7 o'clock at Sunset park with 10ff guests present. The new Mrs. Martin is a graduate of Decatur high school and Ball State Teachers college. Her husband was graduated from Monroeville high school and is employed at Salisbury in Fort Wayne. , -I' CANDIDATE NAMED FOR AUXILIARY PRESIDENT Candidacy of Mrs. Bowden D. Ward of Kingwood. W. Va., for national president of the American Legion auxiliary, has been announced by the auxiliary’s department of West Virgina, Mrs. Frances Monahan, president of Adams 43 auxiliary unit, has been informed. The election will take place at the auxiliary's 1955 national convention in Miami, Fla., October 10 to 13. Mrs. Ward is the only announced candidate for the auxiliary's highest office and is expected to be unopposed in the election, according th Mrs. Monahan. She is a former president of the West Virgina department and has been a leader of auxiliary national activities for a number of years. At present she is serving ts chairman of the auxiliary's national rehabilitation committee which directs the organization's nation-wide activities ftw the welfare of disabled war veterans. She is the .wife of, A'World War I veteran and mother of two children. Mrs. Smith will alt In on the finance committee and on registration of delegates. The Eagles auxiliary will hold a regular business meeting Tuesday evening at the Eagles hall at eight o'clock. The W.S.W.S. of the Union Chapel church will meet Thursday evening at seven-thirty at the home of Mrs. Myron Frank. Darlene Bohnfye Is Wed Recently In Church Ceremony The Immanuel Lutheran church was the setting for the marriage of Miss Darlene Ruth Behnke to Waiter A. Leuenberger, Jr., August 5, at 7 o’clock in the evening. The Rev W. €. Vetter officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Christian Bohnke of near Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Leuenberger, Sr., of Monroeville. White bows marked the pews and the church was decorated with palms, greenery, and beauty vases filled with lavendar and white glade. The musicale was presented by Bernai/l Schultz, organist, and Karl Relnking, vocalist. Selections sung wfere '"Take Thou Their Hands and Lead Them," “The Lord's Prayer," and "The Prayer Response.” _. ' ■ ■■ r •For her gown, the bride chose white crystalette over white bridal • taffeta. The fitted bodice featured ■ a boat neckline edged with shirred parifof self fabric. The full gathered skirt of crystalette was fashioned with tiers of shirred inserts which graduated in length to form a chapel sweep train. She wore a half-hat of tulle sprinkled with sequins and pearls which held ’ her bridal veil of silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of white glamellias and carnations. Attending the bridegroom as best man was his uncle, Edward Walker. Ushers were Paul Busse and Burt Heubner. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at Reitdorf’s hayloft, with approximately 400 guests present. Servers included Mrz. For her going away apparel the bride chose a black faille princess style dress with a large white coHar. black and white accessories and a carnation from her bridal bouquet. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Holthouse and daughter have returned from a vacation trip to Mackinac City.
