In addition, JB.OOfr youngsters in eight Indiana counties are to get free vaccine “boster" shots after having been .immunized in the 1954 field trials of the vaccine. Vanderburgh, one of these eight, thus has about 18,000 children who will be eligible for the*free second shots.

Junior Chicken Os Tomorrow Contest One hundred and sixty-three entries have been made in the Indiana Junior chicken of tomorrow contest by 163 poultry minded bys and girls in 33 counties. Contestants from Adams county are Curtis Arnold Lieehty, Berne, cooperating with Berne Hi-Way Hatchery, and Alex R. Neal, R. 1, Berne, also cooperating with the Berne Hi-Way Hatchery. The contest according to Leo N. Seltenright. county agent, is designed to encourage youngsters in 4-H and vocational work to raise broilers to market weight in the shortest possible time on the least amount of feed. Working in close cooperation with thefr local hatcherymen, vocational teaepers. county agent and 4-H club leaders, the chicken of tomorrow contestants start at least 100 chicks. The birds were housed the week of June 13 and will be fed 10 weeks. On August 29 each contestant will take six of the best birds in the flock to Indianapolis where they will be dressed and judged.
