ADAMS CENTRAL STAFF MEMBERS AT INSTITUTE Two newspaper staff members Os the Adams Central high school ■will attend the ninth annual high school journalism institute at Indiana University. They are being sponsored in part, by the Adams Central P. T. A. Leaving Sunday to attend the two-weeks session are Barbara Flechter, a junior; and Paul Riley, a senior. They are co-edltors of the Greyhound Gazette. ; MARY EVELYN WEDDLE TO WED EDGAR SWAGER Mr. and Mrs. Guy Weddle of Willshire, Ohio, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their only daughter, Mary Evelyn, to Edgar G. Swager, son of Mr. nad Mrs. Edgar B. Swager of 413 Mcßarnes street, Decatur. The wedding will take place in the Bethany E.U.B. church in Decatur on August 21, at 2:3(1’ o’clock in the afternoon. The Rev. Harry L. Smith will officiate the double-ring ceremony. The bride-elect is a graduate of Willshire high school and is employed at the post office in Willshire. Her from Decatur high school and has served two years with the U. S. army and is employed at the U. S. Rubber company in Fort Wayne. WALTHER LEAGUE TO HOLD ZONE PICNIC • The Inter-River Zbwe Wallin, league will hold their zone picnic Sunday. July 10, at the Mcin Fort Wayne. A potluck lunch will begin the activities at 12 noon. HOME DEMONSTRATION COUNCIL IN MEETING The Adams County home demonstration association council met all day Wednesday at the Farm Bureau building in Monroe. All clubs were represented except one. Miss Martha Cullop, assistant state leader from Purdue University, was present to assist in program planning for next year. Lessons which were voted for the coming year Included fabrics, -newer than nylon; management to spend more time with the family; civil defense; weight control; teaching religion in the home; sex education for children; and hiding figure faults. The home demonstration women voted to donate two Thurinaduke Steam tables to the 4-H fair which they will receive t>y selling 288 bottles of vanilla, pure almond and food coloring. The special interest lesson or. "Noodles” which was originally scheduled for July; 1 will be given sometime after the 4-H-fair. A nominating committee for next year’s slate of officers was appointed as follows: Mrs. Lee Fleming, chairnitan; Mirs. Chester Bryan and Mrs. Carl Frey. The county home demonstration picnic’ will be at Lehman Park in Berne July 25; at 6:30 p. m. All club Wttstren in the county are urged to come and bring a covered dish and table service. Schwartz in a double-ring candlelight cerelnony in the Evangelical United Brethren church in Berne. Parents of the couple are Mr. and .Mr#. Dan D. Sciiwartz and Mr. and Mrs. Grant E. Smith, of Berne. The A. E. G'ivens officiated at the ceremony. The musicale was presented by Mrs. A. C. Smith, organist; and Ray Johnston, vocalist. Given in marriage by her father; the bride chose a gown of imported Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over crystal white taffeta. The princess style bodice of Chantilly lace was fashioned with a scoop neckline beautified with lace and applique. The short sleeves were completed with matching mitts of lace. The double bouffant skirt of nylon tulle ended in a brush train. A fingertip veil of imported illusion was held in place by a Juliet cap studded with French seed pearls. She carried pink sweetheart roses centered with a white orchid. Miss Mhry Niederhauser and Miss Phyllis J. Rich were maids-of-honor, and Jancy J. and Bette A. Smßh, sisters of the bride, were bridesmaids. Leßoy Sprunger attended as best man and guests were seated by Roy Schwartz, Tom Larry. Laechty, and Kedwin Graber. The bridegroom was graduated from Berne-French high school, attended Taylor university for two years and will attend Indiana University this fall. He is presently employed at the Berne Furniture company. The Pleasant Mills Methodist Willing Workers class will have a' picnic Monday evening at 6:30 o’clock at Hanna-Nuttman park. The Sacred Hearts study club will meet with Margaret Heimann Monday evening at 6:30 o’clock. The annual picnic of the Pythian Sisters will be held Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock at HannaNuttman park. Members are asked to bring a covered dish and bread and butter sandwiches. The meat and drink will be furnished. The Academy of Friendship of the Women of the Moose will have their last meeting Monday evening at 6 o’clock in the family room of the West End Restaurant. Two Drivers Fined On Traffic Counts City police investigated an accident on North Second street Wednesday afternoon involving minor bodily injuries to two people. A car driven by Fonteen G. Haines of Sludebaker street was hit on the curve on North Second by an auto operated by Herbert H. Hamrick of Wren, Ohio. The Haines .car was traveling north when Hamrick reportedly left the proper traffic' lane and struck it. Injuries con-' slating of head bruises were reported suffered by Fonteen Haines and a passenger. Steven Haines. Damage to the Hamrick auto was estimated at $125, w'hile the Haines n-r--H-pi —damages totaling s26s.
