Ellis E. Kinsley, route two. Tip City, Ohio, had the fastest qualifying time and had the dubious honor of paying the stiffest fine. Kinsley was fined $5 and costs totaling $19.75. The other eight offenders who paid fines of $1 and costs amounting t® $15.75 were: Dale Osborn. Ernest Birt, St, Mary’s, Ohio; Robert L. Patterson. Dayton, Ohio; Edward Johnson, Dayton. Ohio: Ferdinand F. Voorhees, Wapakoneta. Ohio; Joyce F. Baumgardener, Vandelia, Ohio; George C. Thomas, route one, Monroe, and Grandville Whitmore, Battle Creek, Mich. Joseph Wyss, Jr., of Hoagland, was fined $lO and costs ’ for a Speeding arrest made last week. Three minor accidents were the only other blemishes to Decatur's holiday traffic records, Jowel Boirol of Decatur had his car damaged slightly when it was struck by William E. Kocher, also of this city, as Kocher backed out of a parking space on Madjson street. Damage to tlie Boirol auto was estimated at S3O while the Kocher vehicle was undamaged. The accident occurred Saturday. Two rear-end collisions a'ccbtinted for the rest of the accidents, both coming Monday. A car driven by Issac H. Oafs Demonstration Meeting Thursday Purdue Agronomist To Lead Discussion An oats variety and fertiliser demonstration meeting is scheduled Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the William Becker farm in Root township. Keller Beeson. Purdue extension agronomist, will be discussion leader at the meeting. The meeting will be at the oats plot located three miles west of Decatur on U. S. highway 224 and a half mile north. Varieties seeded in the Becker plot are Benton, Clinton 59, Cllntland, Clintafe, Columbia, Jackson, Missouri 0-205 and Sauk. The oats were seeded April 6 under the direction of Ray Schanding. veterans instructor at Monmouth. Six fertilizer comparison plots were also seeded. Two plots were unfertilized and the other four had 240 pounds per acre of 0-20-20. Os the plots with fertilizer, one had no nitrogen, one had 3 percent nitrogen, one had 6 percent nitrogen and the last had 12 percent nitrogen. Everyone interested in attending the meeting and participating in the discussion-are invited to be present Thursday morning according to Leo N. Seltenright, county agent. Only One Accident Reported In County Only one property damage acident involving a single automoille marred the long holiday in 'dams county, according to the 'lerlff’s department. .
