GLORIA HORMANN TO WEO ROBERT BOWEN Mr. and 'Mrs. Fred Hormann of route ten, Fort Wayne, announce tho engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Gloria, to Robert Bowen, son of Mrs. Bertha Bowen of route five, Decatur. The wedding will take place July 3tt, at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Concordia Lutheran church. The bride-elect is a graduate of Hoagland high, school and is employed by the General Electric company. Her fiance waa graduated from Pleasant Milla high school and is employed by Phelps-Dodge company. Refreshments were served to 18 members and seven guests by the hostesses, Mrs. Elmer Lautenschlegar, Mrs. Henry Graber, and Mrs. John Belneke. ADAMS COUNTY CHORUS ATTENDS CONFERENCE The Adams county chorus met with the other county cho/uses of the state, to attend the summer conference in the Hall of Music at Purdue University Wednesday. The choruses sang their specal numbers led by their directors, and Mrs. Martin Neuenschwander directed the local chorus. The trophy for the outstanding honors for the past year went to the Vanderburg county chorus. The combined choruses will sing Sunday September 4, at the state fair and on September 18, at the national plowing contest at Wabash. Plans were made to go to Sarasota, Fla., in April, 1956. During the evening session, the combined choruses of 2,500 vdlces, under the direction of Al P.- Stewart, sang for a radio broadcast. The 25 ladies who attended the conference from Adams county were: the Mesdames Leland Ray, Alva Lawson, Bert Haley, Henry Adler, Walter Lister, Paul Rich,Ervin Stucky, John Floyd, Wilbur Stanley, William Neidstein, Harrison Miller, Oliver Lessig, Carl Kuhn, Martin Sprunger, Noah Habegger. Dan Schwartz, Stucky, Gilbert Stucky, Russel Welles, Francie Beery, Mary Fenetermaker, Chester Armstrong, Miss Audrey Whitehurst, and Miss Ruth Johnson. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE IN RECENT MEETING - The Women of the Moose held their regular meeting Thursday evening at the local Moose home. Mrs. Meldren Kreps was elected senior regent for the coming year. MISS ELIZABETH MARY KOORS was recently married to Leo Francis Miller, in the St. Mary's Catholic church, with the Rev. Clement J. Funkle, C. S. C., officiating for the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Koors of 226 South Fourth street and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Miller of route four, Decatur. Informal installation of officers will be held Thursday, June 30, at 7:30 p. m. The home demonstration club of Union township will meet Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with Mrs. Nellie Price. Mrs. Jack Gray will be assistant hostess and the ladies of the club are invited. A picnic will be held by the Dejta Theta Tau sorority, Tuesday evening at 6:30 o’clock at Hanna-Nuttman park. Eugene Beltz of Cleveland, Ohio, who is attending a convention at Fort Wayne this week, called on Mr. and Mrs. David Myers of Third street, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gaunt, and his grandmother, Mrs. Alice Shafer, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Frank McDowell, of Bluffton, underwent major surgery at the Wells county hospital yesterday. Over at Montpelier the Davy Crockett boys, not being able to locate any Indians to use as targets for their beebee guns, have turned to trying out on birds. Police have notified them to beware as they will prosecute them if they get on public property. Robert O. King, assistant administrator of the Limp hospital, has been chosen as administrator of the Van Wert hospital, effective July 1. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ellsworth and daughters Belva and Nancy of Orland, Calif., are spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Ellsworth and family of Decatur.

Plan Workshop For G.O.P. Candidates INDIANAPOLIS (INS) —The Republican state committee announced today that it will hold a workshop for GOP Candidates for mayor in 104 cities on June 29 and 30. Mayor Alex M. Clank of Indianapolis will address a luncheon session and Governor George N. Craig a banquet the first day. All phases of the municipal campaign will be discussed. Tentative Agreement Reached On Contract EVANSVILLE, Ind. (INS) —Representatives of Serve!’ Inc., and United Electrical Union, independent, local 813, reached tentative agreement today only a few hours before a strike deadline. The 3,200 workers had voted to strike if a contract were not negotiated to replace the one which expired at noon today. Negotiators worked all night and reached gareement this morning.
