HIM ELIZABETH KOORS ■RIDE OF LEO MILLER (Miss Elizabeth Mary Koors, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph «. Koors of 226 South Fauth street, ■was married to Leo Francis Miller, Saturday at 10 a. m. in the St. Mary’s Catholic church, with the Rev. Clement J. Fnakle, C. S. C., officiating for the double-ring eeremony. The bridegroom is the Son Gt Mr. and Mrs. Casper Miller of route four, Decatur. Pink glads, white daisies, and blue delpbineums, were placed an each side of the main alter. The musicale was presented by Stater M. Paul and the girl’* ehoir. The bride was attired in a gown ®C rosepoint lace and nylon tulle over crystal white satin. The moulded bodice of lace featured a mandarin collar and long tapering sleeves. The voluminous skirt ot tuMe was highlighted by sMe fuels of rows of lace which formed • ruffle edging the full cathedral train. Her fingertip veil of imported French illusion was held in place by a matching lace Juliet cap studded with pearls. She carwhite orchid oh a prayer Mrs. Robert T. Koora attended the bride as matron-of honor. She wore a pale blue gown ot erystalette which was complimented with a large bow in the back. Her flowered bead band was the aame color as her gown. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Other attendants were: bridesmaids, ,Mrs. Dowell' HWbaker, sister of the bridegroom; Mrs. Robert iSteigmer, cousin of the bridegroom; flower girl, Eileen Miller, niece at the bridegroom; and ring bearer, Jerry Koors. A wedding breakfast was held at the K. of C. hall and the reception was held at the home of the bride's parents with approximately 130 guests present. Servers were: Miss Judy Koors, Miss Delores Kohne, Miss Naureen Milles* Mrs. John Braun and Mrs. Joseph C. Beauchot. ' For a wedding trip to the east the bride chose a grey and white faille suit with avocado accessories. ' ■ / Both are graduates of Decatur. Catholic high school and the bride was formerly employed at the General Electric company. Her husband is engaged in farming. Following a two weeks honeymoon the couple will reside on route four, Decatur. NEEDLE CLUB MEETS HERE AFTER TEMPLE The Pythian Sister Needle club met after Temple recently for a short business meeting. Twentysix members were present. Plans were made for the annual picnic to be held in July at the HannaNuttman park. | Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by the hostesses, Effie McGill. Mae Butter, and Peg Crist. Minnie Teeple won the door prize. BRIDE HONORED AT SHOWER FRIDAY Mrs. Roger Blackburn, the former Madeline Friend, was honored with a shower recently given by Carolyn McDougal and Joyce Embier. The decorations were carried out in the doll theme and the gifts were placed in a beautifully decorated wheel barrow. Games were played and prizes were won by Marvene Buuck, Greta Erekson, Esther Franklin, Janet Everhart, and Janet Hetrick. The bride received many .gifts and refreshments were served to -the guests. Madeline Friend Wed Sunday To Roger Blackburn The Rev. Ray J. Walther officated at the wedding of Miss Madeline Mlaxine Friend to Roger Blackburn, which took place Sunday at 6 p. m. in the First Presbyterian church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Friend of 908 North Third street, and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blackburn of M® Marshall street. The church aisle was laid with white carpet and the altar was adorned with candelabra, beauty vases of pink glads, and white majestic daisies. Bows marked the pews. _ <• Mrs. Carrie Haubold presented the organ selections ‘‘lshliebedlck,” by Grieg; “My Heart At Thy Sweet Voice,” by •and “In Moonlight,” by Kinder. Dick Reidenbach sang “Because," and “All Through the Years.” The bride wore a gown at imported hand-clipped rose point lace and nyloh tulle over crystal white satin. The moulded lace bodice sprinkled with iridescent sequins and seed pearls, was detailed by a jeweled pointed collar. Long lace sleeves tapered to points over her hands and tiny buttons were centered down the back. A scalloped lace peplum highlighted the very, bouffant tiered nylon tulle floor length skirt. Her fingertip veil of imported French illusion was caught by a pleated tulle Swedish crown, appliqued with lace and sequins. She carried a bride shower bouquet of white roses and stephonotis with a white orchid in the middle. Mrs. Austin Merriman reviewed the safety lesson on “Safety with Insecticides.” There were 34 members present, two guests and 13 children. There was a birthday auction conducted by various members. The Zion Lutheran Needle club will meet Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the parish hlal. The Kum-Join-JJs class of the Bethany E. U. B. church will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the church. The Ruth and Naomi circle of Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will meet at the social room, of the church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Blackburn, brother of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer. The attendants were gowned in petal pink taffeta. Tucked taffeta formed the modified long torso bodice detailed by a scoop neckline and short sleeves. Unpressed pleats formed the very bouffant waltz length skirt detailed by a bustle ■bow. The short veils, caught by embrefcderied head bands, were springled with iridescent sequins. The mOid-of-honor carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and the brideamJalds carried round bouquets of pink roses. The best man was James Moses, Jr., and guests were seated by Phil Krick and Bob Baker of Decatur, The bride’s mother wore a dark blue cluster dress ensemble with white and blue accessories and a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Blackburn chose a blue dress with pink and navy accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Immediately .following..the..wedding ceremony, a reception was held in the church with approximately 150 guests in attendance. The table was laid with a lace tablecloth apd the three tier cake was surrounded by greenery. On either side were white candles in crystal holders. Servers included Mrs. Louis Stoffel of Huntington, Mrs. David Embler, Jr., Mrs. Thomas Buuck, Miss Ruth Ann Friend of Auburn, and Mrs. Gladys Goble of Columbia City. For her going away apparel, the bride chose a light blue suit with white accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The new Mrs. Blackburn is a graduate of Decatur high school and attended International Busi- t ness college. The bridegroom was* graduated from Decatur high school and is employed at the General Electric company. After returning from their wedding trip the couple will reside on, route one, Decatur. Marilyn Braun Is Bride Sunday Os Floyd E, Clifton The First Methodist church was the scene of the marriage of Miss Marilyn Marie Braun, daughter of Mrs. Harry Coffelt of Decatur, and the late Edward C. Braun, to Floyd Edward Clifton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clifton of Wren, Ohio. The wedding took place at the First Methodist church Sunday at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. Virgil Sexton officiating at the double ring ceremony. The church altar was adorned with summer flowers and candelabra. Mrs. David Embler, Sr., presented a fifteen minute muaicale and Mrs. Leland Neuen sang “Oh Promise Me,” “Because,” and “Tfte Lord’s Prayer." The bride was attired in a white gown of tulle and chantilly lace fashioned with a full bodice, and sbirr.ed tulle with a yoke and long fitted sleeves of tulle. The bouffant skirt fell into a train and wide ruffles of tulle joined to the skirt with bands of lace. Her fingertip veil of imported French illusion was joined to a bonnnet of lace edged in pearls. She carried white roses and an orchid. Mrs. Von Geissler of Van Wert, Ohio, attended as matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Barnett of Redkey, Miss Ruth Wiegman, and Miss Cheryl Clifton. The attendants wore floor length gowns of crysfalette with
fitted bodices and dropped waistlines, to which the bouffant skirts were joined. A flange of crystalette stood up on the shoulders to form cap sleeves. The matron-of-hnnor wore coral and the bridesmaids were light blue. They all carried matching bouquets of blue delphinium and tinted carnations.
