Miss Joan Wemhoff and Miss Rosemary Spangler were delegates from the local club. Business was conducted Friday evening and Miss Sally Butler of Indianapolis, a past national and international president, related her experiences in a good will tour which she recently took on behalf of the United States,

Various business sessions were conducted Saturday with workshops for members attending, reports of study committees and special committees. Officers elected for the coming year were Mary G. Cowger, Indianapolis, president; Helen Johnson, Auburn, first vice-president; Helen K. Ross, Rushville, second vice-president; Ellen McCutchan, Evansville, recording secretary; Esther Indianapolis, corresponding secretary, and Louise Morgan, Vincennes, treasurer. Miss Wemhoff, who ran for a position on the state nominating committee, was not elected. The highlight of the convention was the address of Ms%) Ivy Baker Priest, treasurer of the United States. Mrs. Priest explained the duties and responsibilities of her office and her predictions of women’s place in the world fifty years from now. Decatur was among the clubs participating in the ‘Parade es Roses’ for their Achievement in meeting the national assessment for moving the headquarters to Washington, D. C. Miss Helen G. Irwin, past national president and national representative of the B. P. w. clubs, addressed the group at their breakfast Sunday morning. “Stop, Look and Listen” was the title of her talk, in which she stressed the importance of adjustment to a changing world. COMMITTEES LISTED FOR C. L.C. CONVENTION Announcement has been made of delegates and committees from Decatur for the national convention of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, which will be held June 20 through 23 at ■ the Van Orman Hotel in Fort Wayne. Delegates from the Decatur C. L-C. will be Mrs. Gerald Durkin, Mrs. William Kohne, Mrs. Herman Meyers, Miss Edith Ervin and Miss Rose Steigmeyer. Miss Rosemary Spangler, assisted by Mrs. Andrew Appelman, will be in charge of the program for the reception, which is scheduled for Monday evening. The program will include selections by vocal quartet composed of the Misses Hazel Roberts, Alice Gage, .Monica Rumschlag and Rita Heiman, all of Decatur. They will sing “Carolina Moon,” ‘'May Day Carol”, “Garden in the Rain” and “AUouetta.” “If God Left Only You” will be a vocal solo by Miss Alice Gage. A trumjet solo, “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White,” will be presented by Donald Rumschlag. Angela Jauregui will be accompanist for the program.

In charge, of the program for the Tuesday night banquet is ltrs. Louis Holthouse. This program will feature songs by Charles Bilskie, Fort Wayne vocalist. Decorations for the Tuesday banquet will be aranged by Mrs. Irenaeus Gase, Mrs. Cornelius Geimer and Mrs. George Stults. Members of the Decatur group are serving as hostesses for the convention. Mrs. William Keller, who is a member of the local group Is a supreme director of the organisation. MISS PHYLLIS MOSER WEDS RICHARD BLACK The Rev. J. J. Klopfenstein officiated at the double-ring ceremony which united in marriage Miss Phyllis Moser and R. Richard Black. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. tollman Moser of Berne and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Black of Decatur. The First Missionary church parsonage wad the scene of the wedding June 6. Miss Moser wore a white ballerina length gown of nylon net over satin. The strapless bodice was topped with a. nylon net jacket. She carried a purple orchid on a white Bible. Mts. Robert Herman attended her sister as matron-of-honor. She was attired in a pale ballerina length gown of net over taffeta. She also carried an orchid. Attending the bridegroom as best man. was Walter Werst of Decatur. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church basement. Servers included the Misses Jeanean Moser of Geneva, Barbara and Myra Black of Decatur, Donna Cossin of Marion and Karen Leh-' man. Mrs. Robert Herman presided' at the guest book. The new Mrs. Black is a graduate of Berne high school and her husband was graduated from Decatur high school. They are residing at 417 North Tenth street in Decatur. WELCOME WAGON CLUB MEETS SUNDAY NIGHT The Decatur Welcome Wagon club met Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Giliihan. A potluck supper was enjoyed, followed by card games. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tyndall and grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Macklin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Babcock, Mr. and Mrs. Woodson Ggg and daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Jay Markley and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baumgartner and family, Mr. and Mrs. MarteH Burrell and children, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shannon and family, and

Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. William F. Snyder and children of Payne O. The Petersons received many gifts. ' The Profit and Pleasure heme demonstration club will meet with Mrs. Alton Corson Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The Literature department of the Decatur Woman's chib will have a brief business meeting at the-library Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Bobo W.S.C.S. will meet at the church Friday evening at 7:30 o’clock. All members are urged to be present Order of Rainbow for Girle will meet Thursday evening at 8:45 o’clock. The Methodist W.S.C.S. will have a training session for all officers and circle leaders Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock in the ladies lounge of the church. Miss Alice All/wein, 13, daughter of Mr. amt Mrs. Tom Allwein. was honored at a welcoming party Saturday evening. A picnic was held at Sunset park and a dance followed. Approximately 25 guests were present. The Merry Matrons home demonstration club will meet Monday evening at 8 o'clock instead of Tuesday.
