The next meeting will be a social Yiight June 23, with a linen shower for the former Patty Dague. , WCTU ANNOUNCES SUMMER RALLIES Mrs. Herman Stanley, of Anderson, president of ‘ the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Indiana, has announced the dates for the eight summer rallies of this organization to be held in late June and early July. Rally sessions will be open to all persons who are interested In the program of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union of Indiana, and members of the organization are urged to attend the rally nearest to them. The general theme for 1955 is “Paths of Progress' with "Advance With Total Abstinence" as the rally theme. All sessions will begin at 10 a. m. and close at 3:15 p. m., daylight saving time. With rallies at the following places: Thursday, July 14, Methodist Church, Columbia City; Friday, July 15, First Methodist Church, Portland. METHODIST W.S.C.S. HOLDS last meeting of the year The Methodist W. S. C. 8. opened their last meeting of the year with a quiet hour beginning at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, followed by organ meditations by Mrs. Harry Dailey. Mrs. Charles Houk was in charge of the worship service and Mrs. Virgil Sexton gave a talk In memorium of deceased members, followed by a solo presented by Mrs. Clyde Butler. Installation of officers and a business meeting was held. Refresh‘ments were served by the Mesdames Harold Gay, Noah Steury, Alva Lawson, Jim Gatschall, Francile Smith, August Kelly, and Erman Johnson. — 7 - DESSERT MEETING HELD BY SOCIETY The Zion Lutheran Missionary society held a dessert meeting in the parish hall Wednesday at 1:36 p. m. A special feature of the afternoon was a mite box rally, with Rev. Schmidt showing and narrating slides pertaining to the project with mite box contributions. He also read the devotions especially ehosen to correspond to the topic the group discussed, “Helping Train Soldiers of the Cross.” Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg presided at the business meeting. Mrs. Carl Gattschall and Mrs. William Justice were guests. Mr*. Walter Bauer, program chairman, announced that at the beginning fall meeting in September, “hobbies” will be the theme, and all the ladles will participate in the program. Hostesses tor the meeting included the Mesdames Lloyd Bowman, Ernst Ehlerding, Otto Spiegel.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Keller, Jr., of Bluffton. Thb bride-elect is a graduate of Decatur high school and is employed in the offices of the General Electric company in this city. Her fiance was graduated from Allen high school in Bluffton and is working for his father, Albert Keller, Jr., contractor. Eight members of the mission band presented glimpses of India in three scenes depicting a Hindu mealtime, their love of music, and a typical game, which is called “Kokolanka.” Mrs. Robert Houk played a pi-‘ ano solo “Song of India," as a prelude. Mrs. Adolph Weidler and Mrs. s - ft directed the production. The cast included Ellen Houk, Phillip Houk, Jack Stauffer,. Elena Hazelwood, Elaine Weidler, Russell Augsburger, Darrel Augsburger, and Steve Hazelwood. Following the program, the bus< iness meeting was held. It was de-, elded to give $lO to the Giri Scout room. A bazaar will be held again this fall. Delegates to the Heidelberg conference are: Mrs. NoS.h Roth and Mrs. William Feller. The meeting was closed with the Mispah benediction. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Walter Augsburger, Mrs. Noah Arnold, Mrs. C. L.
