GECODE CLUB PLANS A TRIP TO COLORADO GeCode club’s "Cool Colorado Holiday," a trip planned for this summer, will begin Sunday, July 31» and end Sunday, August 7. Places of featured interest will be a journey over Trail Ridge Road through the- Rocky Mountain National park, a bus trip across the Continental Divide, sightseeing trip to Denver, Colo., a visit to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, a trip to the top of Pike’s Peak, and many other interesting places. The third day of the trip will be used for shopping, awimming, riding or just relaxing. This lavish trip will be just $145 for Decode club members and 81-47 for nonmembers. The < group will board the Pennsylvania "Spirit of St. Louis,’’ in Indianapolis at 8:38 a. m. EST, Sunday, July 31, and will arrive back in Indianapolis at Union Station on Sunday, August 7, at 4:50 p. m. Those who are interested in making this trip are asked to contact Rosemary Miller, Harriet Pollock, or any officer of the GeCode club. Reservations must be in by July, 1, with a deposit of $lO. The price of $145 or $147 includes transportation, hotel accomodations, tips for handling one piece of luggege, six meals during the stay in Grand Lake lodge, Chuck Wagon dinner, sightseeing specified, reserved seats at a performance at Central City Opera house.

Miss Singleton Is Wed Sunday To James Ritter The marriage of Miss. Kafhtyn Norene Singleton and James Ritter was solemnised at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon in the Mount Pleasant church. The Rev. H. T. Shady performed the double-ring ceremony after a musicale by Mrs. Norval Fuhrman, pianist, and Robert Sprague, vocalist, Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Singleton of route two, Decatur, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ritter of 606 Indiana street, Decatur. Given in marriage by her father, the bride selected a gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle over crystal white satin.. The sculptured bodice was fashioned with a rounded collar rising Trom a sheer yoke and was embroidered with irridescent sequins and French pearls. Long sleeves tapered over Ijer wrists and miniature buttons were dentered down the back. The bouffant floor length skirt of lace was' highlighted by a ruffle on each side. Her fingertip veil of French illusion was held In place by a jewdded Hara and she carried a white Bible topped with red roses and whites lilies of the valley. TRI KAPPA SORORITY HOLOS PLEDGE SERVICE The Tri Kappa sorority held its June business meeting Tuesday evening at the Elks home. After reports were given on the various committees, the sorority decided to donate $25 to the Red Cross and $25 for the Girl Scout room at the Decatur Youth and Community center. It was announced that the pledge picnic will be held at the home of Mrs. William Schnepf, next Tuesday evening at 6:15 p.m., and also the initiation will be held at the Hobby Ranch house in Fort Wayne June 28. For her daughter’s wqidilng, Mrs. Singleton wore a navy sheer dress with white trim and white accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a lavender nylon dress with white and black accessories. GRAND COUNCIL HELD BY SUNSHINE GIRLS The fiftji stand council of Pythian Sunshine Girls of the state of Indiana wals held Sunday at Marion. During the grand council the following were appointed to grand ofices: Linda Pollock, grand royal recorder; Mara Dee Striker, grand friendship; and Vera Barber, special deputy state organizer for the entire state. The Decatur Sunshine Girls were invited to attend a reception at North Webster July 19, for Kay Koontz. The girls were also asked to participate in the entertainment. 1 OFFICERS INSTALLED FOR VALPO GUILD Mrs. Herman Bleeke was installed last night as the new president of the Decatur Circuit chapter of the Valparaiso University guild, at its closing meeting in the Zion parish hall. Mrs. Hugh Engle read the devotions and prayer, after which a potluck supper was served. Miss Mary Rentz, accompanied by Jane Rentz, sang two solos, and Jane then presented the piano solo “Liebestraum.” Mrs. Willard Fawbush, retiring president, conducted the business meeting. Burglars broke Into the Smith Diner near Bryant Monday night and stole about $75. They got S2O out of the icebox, cleaned up the pinball machine and the Juke box and helped themselves to tobacco, cigarettes and other supplies. Mr. and Mrs. Manfred Melchi and family and Mrs. Eugene Melchi and son attend the graduation exercises of Eugene Melchi Thursday. Melchi received his master of arts degree at Ball State Teachers College in MuAcie. Mayor and Mrs. John Doan have Returned from Muncie where they attended the Ball State Teachers college commencement exercises Tuesday. Robert Doan, was a member of the graduating class and he has accepted a position next September teaching in the Decatur public school system. Mrs. John Peterson of Monroe street in Decatur will attend the graduation of her granddaughter, Karen Keller, who will graduate from South Side high school in Fort Wayne, tonight.

GIRL SCOUT AU senior Girl Scouts and eighth grade girls who will be freshmen at the beginning of next year are asked to meet at the court house square at 4 o’clock Friday afternoon. Miss Sally Hower To Teach In England Miss Sally Hower of Indianapolis, a daughter of Mrs. M. E. Hower of Decatur and the late Mr. Hower, and a sister of Mrs. Carl Gerber, also of Decatur, will teach in England next year. Miss Hower, who nas taught in an Indianapolis school for several years, will participate in a teacherexchange program. She will be replaced in Indianapolis by Miss Betty Carney of Manchester.
