District Guernsey Judging Contest Will Be Held Near Auburn On June 15 The district Guernsey judging contest end Held day will be held Wednesday, June 15 at A. X Custer. Levelled Farms, according to announcement by DeKalb county agent. Ernest X Lesiuk. This program is sponsored by the 4-H club department ot Purdue University and the Northeastern Indiana Guernsey breeders association. The A. X Custer. Levelled Farms are located one mile south of Auburn on 427 and 3/4 mile west, The counties in district three are as follows: Steuben. DeKalb. Allen. Whitley, Wabash, Huntington. Wells, Adams, and Grant. The junior judging and herd inspection will be held from 9 to 12 noon. Noon lunch will be served at the farttt. The afternoon program will begin at 1 pm. with an entertaining speaker from Larwill, and a chalk talk by Harry Linds trend. The unknown lad struck the rear Vender of a car driven by Tom Keller in an alley between Sixth nud Seventh streets. The incident turned out all right as neither the car nor bike was damaged and the young man was brought back to earth. Kids Focus Father In Snapshot Contest Valuable Prizes To Be Awarded Here . The "Best Man is Dad" snap-shot contest is off to a flying start and has now entered its third day. accompanied by the clicking of cameras and the popping of flash bulbs all over Adams county. Youthful camera /fans, alert to Dad’s every move, are eager to get a candid shot of Dad in action. For by submitting a snap-shot of their favorite pal doing something for the kids, they stand to win for him a valuable present for Father's Day. Dad can be pictured doing any cne of the many things he does for the children — helping with lessons, making a model plane, helping to fly a kite, going fishing, handing out allowance money, working with a scout troop, and many others. Contestants should try to show Dad doing something unusual or different, since prizes will also be awarded for the most novel subject. Boys and girls of 14 or under who take their own photographs are eligible for the contest, sponsored by the "Let’s Meet Our Town” merchants of Decatur. Elsewhere in this issue is an entry blank with complete instructions. Prizes offered include an Eastman Camera for the grand prize, and 15 other valuable merchandise prizes suitable as gifts for Dad, as well as two theater passes for the first 100 entries. Awards will be offered for the best photograph, the most clever title, the best - looking Dad. the youngest - looking Dad, and the most novel subject. Annual 4-H Lamb Meeting Is Held The annual 4-fl Tamb meeting was held Wednesday, at Bobby Chrlatener's home west of Monroe, reports Leo N. Seltenright, county agent. Henry Mayo, sheep specialist ot Purdue University, was fa charge of the meeting. A number of lambs were sheared and instructions in shearing Were given by Mayo. Kenneth VonGunten and Jim Singleton both practiced shearing the lambs. Mayo then demonstrated the Wbcking of a yearling ewe and preparation for exhibit. Changes in 1955 4-H sheep rules include showing of a yearling owe and a pen of three lambs.
