Karen Mann, 12-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mann of Bluffton, suffered a triple fracture of her right ankle while participating in a track meet at Wilson Field. The accident occurred when a hurdle fell on her ankle. ROSARY SOCIETY HOLOS MOTHER'S DAY MEETING The Rosary society held a mother’s day meeting Monday evening at the K. of C. hall. Mrs. Louis Rumschlag received a corsage for being one of the most outstanding mothers. Following the regular business meeting a special program was given. Mrs. Medford Smith gave a mother’s day reading and the Dramatic department of the becatur Woman's club presented a playentitled “Come In. Mrs. Smith.” Spring flowers were used throughout the room and the senior girls of Decatur Catholic high school were special guests at the party. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Ron Parrish and her committee. SOCIAL MEETING IS HELD BY SORORITY The Psi lota Xi sorority held a social meeting last evening at the Zion Lutheran parish hall. The highlight of the affair was the modeling of homemade hats, by each member and her guest. Prines were won as follows: prettiest hat, Mrs. Lawrence Anspaugh; funniest hat, Mrs. F. D. Striker; most original, Mrs. Richard Parrish; and the cleverest, Mrs. Kate Koontz. Miss Karen Striker won the door prize.

Another feature of the evening was the program presented by junior students of Decatur high school. Those participating included Michael Beery, David Ellsworth, Ralph Thomas, Mara Dee Striker, Leah Brandyberry, Mary Rentz, Lou Ann Lehman, Judy Keller, and Carolyn Aumann. Miss Helen Haubold accompanied the group. The tables were decorated with spring flowers and candles. Mrs. Dave Embler, Sr., played music throughout the modeling of the hats, and lovely refreshments were served by the committee. The committee included the Misses Carolyn McDougal and Martha Kelly and the Meadames Floyd Reed. Dave Heller, Dick Linn, and Robert Macklin. COUPLE HONORED ON 25TH ANNIVERSARY A group of friends gathered al the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Reinking in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary. at 10 a. m. followed by 4 business meeting and a luncheon at noon in the Y. M. C. A. cafeteria. The afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p. m. Guest speakers will be William Hunter, Who will speak on “Slow Down and Live.” and the Allen county sheriff will use as his topic, “Dumping.” REBEKAH LODGES TO MEET AT GENEVA The Sylvia Rebekah lodge 237 of Geneva, will be hostess for the spring meeting of Rebekah lodges of district 31, composed of Adams, Wells, and Blackford counties, Tuesday, May 24, in the Odd Fellows hall. The meeting will begin at 2 o’clock and all officers and committees are to be dressed formally and are requested to be at Geneva by 1:30 p.m. The district deputy president, Mrs. Nora Glendening of Geneva, will prseide at the afternoon session. State president, Mrs. Louise Brakefield of Bloomington, will conduct the school of instruction. Trophies will be awarded the' lodge which has the largest at-, tendance and also the lodge with' the highest gain in membership. A banquet will be served by the W.S.C.S. at the Methodist church' at 5:30 p.m. The evening session will open at 7 p.m. and the Liberty Center lodge will present the memorial’ services. The Ruth and Naomi degree staff, composed of past district deputy presidents of 31, will confer the degree for a class of candidates. Several members of the Decatur Rebekah lodge are planning to attend the meeting. GIVE BIBLE SCHOOL PROGRAM ON FRIDAY The Bobo community Bible school program will be presented Friday evening at the Mt. Zion United Brethren church at 8 o'clock. Sixtyseven children will participate in the program and the deans are Mrs. Gifford Bunner and Mrs. Paul R. Rich. Department eachers are Mrs. Roman Sprunger, Mrs. Gladys Turnbleson, Mrs. Samuel-Cottrell, Mrs. Harry Ross, Mrs. Mabel Colter, Mrs. Ruth Edgell, Mrs. George Daniels, Mrs. Ario Drake, Mrs. Austin McMichaels, and Mrs. Milton Chronister.
