Levi Stucky Dies Here On Wednesday Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon Levi Stucky, 75, lifelong resident of the Berne community, died Wednesday at the Adams county memorial hospital following a heart attack suffered two weeks ago. He was born in Adams county April 6, 1880, a son of Nicholas and Elizabeth Augsburger-Stucky, and was married to Minerva Flory April 8, 1905. Mrs. Stucky died May 9. 1954. Mr. Stucky was a member of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church at Berne. Surviving are a son, Oren Stucky of Portland; four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Teeter of Geneva, Mrs. Dale Stout and Mrs. Herman Alberding, both of Berne, and Mrs. Homer DeArmond of East Sparta, O.; 21 grandchildren, and four sisters, Miss Rufine Stucky of Modesto, Calif., Mrs, John Barkman of Dinuba, Calif., Mrs. Amos Moser of Berne and Mrs. Rollie Elzey of Lynn. Two brothers and a sister are deceased. Funeral services will be held at 2 pin. Saturday at the Trinity EUB church in Berne, the Rev. A. E. Givens officiating. Burial will be in the MRE cemetery. Friends may call at the Yager funeral home until time of the services. Local Lady's Father Reported Improving The Rev. Stuart Brightwell, pastor of the First Baptist church, returned to Decatur yesterday from Waterloo, lowa, where his father-in-law, Leslie Cobb, was burned last week in a gasoline explosion. Mrs. Brightwell remained in Waterloo. Mr. Cobb is reported improving satisfactorily. Restaurant Owner To Attend Convention Cletus Miller, co-owner of the Decatur Fairway restaurant, will attend the thirty-sixth annual national restaurant convention and exposition at Chicago next Monday and Tuesday. More than 400 firms which do business with restaurants in the middlewest will have exhibits on the navy pier, where the annual exposition wil be held. The Fairway has been a member so the national organization ever since it was opened several years ago and Miller has been a regular convention attendant;
Charges Are Filed Against Geneva Man Charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery were brought against John Stanley of Geneva in city court this morning. The affidavits were signed by Margaret Moser and Catherine Rhodes of Geneva. — The pta int if fs dai m tha t Stanley created a disturbance in a Geneva restaurant owned by Mrs. Moser and hit Catherine Rhodes, who is a waitress there. The incident is alleged to have happened Wednesday. At this morning's hearing Stanley entered a plea of not guilty to both charges. By agreement of both parties the case was set for trial Monday at 10 a. m. in city court before Mayor John Doan. Pre-School Clinic Tuesday At Monmouth A pre-school clinic will be held Tuesday from 8 to 10 a. m. at the Monmouth school for all children entering school this fall from Union, Preble and Root townships. This includes both public and parochial schools. Arrangements have been made with Mrs. Kathryn Dorwin, first grade teacher, for those wishing to visit the room.
