Jackets Score Baseball Win Over Eagles The Decatur YeiiatT’JacketH, on a sparkling one-hit job by Gene Baxter, defeated the Columbia City Eagles, 6-1, in a Northeastern Indiana conference game at Columbia City Monday. Baxter limited the Eagles to only one safety, a single by Yant in the third inning, and the losers scored their only run in the fifth on a walk and a pair of Decatur errors. The Jackets scored all the runs Baxter needed by counting three times in the third on hits by Baxter and Wolfe, plus two walks and a sacrifice. A pair of insurance runs crossed the plate in the fourth on singles by Baxter and Hancher and Bowman’s triple.
