MISS DIANA CRIST--18 WED SATURDAY The Monroe Methodist church was the acene of the marriage of Miss Diana Sue Criat of Fort Wayne to George B. Morgan of Fort Wayne. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. A.. D. Crist of Monroe and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. A. S. Morgan of Raceland, Kentucky. The wedding took place April 23; with the Rev. Ralph Johnson officiating. The church altar was decorated with pink and white carnations, ferns and palms, and white candles. The musicals was presented by Mrs. Virgil Gerber, vocalist, and Miss Beverly Lobsiger, organist. Miss Lx>bsiger sang “The Lord’s Prayer,? "Sweethearts,” "Dearly Beloved,” and "Indian Love Call.” The bride chose a gown of embroidered tulle over white taffeta. The moulded bodice featured a square neckline of hand clipped scallops dropping to a V in the back and fastening with self covered buttons. The short sleeves were complemented with elbow length mitts. The bouffant floor length skirt was fashioned with four tiers of hand clipped scalloped tulle. Her finger-tip veil of imported illusion was caught to a half-hat of lace edged with French braids and rice pearls. She carried pink roses and white gardenia's. The attendants, Mrs. Paul Nussbaum, matron-oLhonor; and Miss Jackie Jellison and Mrs. Allen Brown, bridesmaids; wore gowns of pink Frostyk. The long torso with its square neckline and short eleeves had a bow from the center back neckline to the hem of the fully gathered waits length skirt. Matching hats of straw with ircular rhinestone sprinkled veils completed their ensembles. They carried cascade bouquets of pink carnations. The bride’s mother chose a navy -blue dres with navy and white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Mrs. Morgan wore a blue drefcs. with navy and white accessories and a white carnation corsage. Marion Douglass of Louisville, Kentucky, attended as best man

and ushers were Dixon F. Hemphill I and H. Sogi Soder, both of Fort Wayne. Immediately following the Ceremony a reception was held at the church annex. The rooms were carried out in pink and white. Servers included Mrs. Dixon Hemphill, Miss Mary Jojrab, Mrs. Marion Hess, Miss Marica Hoyes, and Miss Lauri Flannigan. The new Mrs. Morgan is a graduate of Adams Central high school and Parkview Methodist school of nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse in the office of Dr. Buckner in Fort Wayne. The bridegroom was graduated from Raceltfnd high school and the University of Kentucky. He is an electrical engineer with the General Electric in Fort Wayne. For her going away apparel, the bride chose an avacado green suit with black accessories and a corsage of white gardenia's. After returning from a week’s trip to the Smoky Mountains the couple will reside at 3-217 Beaver avenue in Fort Wayne. ADAMS COUNTY CHORUS IN SPRING SONGFEST A group of the Adams county chorus went to Columbia City to join 13 other county choruses for their spring district meeting and song festival of more than 250 members. Similar meetings are being held all week from all over the state under the direction of Albert P. Stewart and his assistant Marvin Myers. Jim Farley, pianist; and John McGee, composer of music, from Purdue University were also present. A two hour song festival was held and plans for the year were made. The combined choruses from 92 counties of better than 1,500 voices will sing at the conference, June 22, at Purdue, then again in August. Also. September 4. a religious program at the State Fair," and September 16, at the National Plowing contest in Wabash. The combined choruses have sung in Washington, D.C., in 1950, Europe in 1951, Toronto, Canada, in 1952, and Los Angeles, Calif, in 1954. > Plans are being made for 1956, as offers from different states are coming in and the time and place will be known at the June conference. Those attending from Adams county include, the Mesdames Alva Lawson, Leland Ray, Bert Haley, Walter leister, Harvey Koos, William' Nteidstetn,’'Harrison Miller, Oliver Lessig, Frances Biery, Chester Armstrong, Fan Swarts, Walter Stucky, Mary Fenstermaker, Hoan Habegger, Martin Sprunger, Martin Neuenschwander, and Miss Audrey Whitehurst and Miss Ruth Johnson. ADAMS CENTRAL EXHIBIT TO BE HELD FRIDAY Friday, April 29, the Adamp. Central’s annual exhibit will be held with the doors opening at 7 o’clock and the program beginning at 8 o’clock. Parents are Invited to visit all the rooms of the grades through high school. - A special program, which will be held in the gym, will be as follows: an exhibition by the track team, preview of the band concert to be held May 3, industrial project works for the. year, ,a home economics style show, and a fine arts display. LINCOLN P. T. A. ENJOYS ART EXHIBIT RECENTLY A large crowd of the Lincoln P. T. A. members and friends enjoyed the lovely and interesting art exhibit last Thursday Thursday evening at the Lincoln school. A business meeting was conducted in the auditorium at-7:30 o’clock by the president, Mrs. Charles Magley. The Rev. Halzel gave the invocation. The summer round-up for the children of the coming school year was set for May 17, with Mrs. Burdette Custer as chairman. New Officers for 1955-5-6 are: Mrs. Robert Gay, president; Mrs. Burdette Custef, vice-president; Mrs. iR. M. Ladd, secretary; and Mrs. W. W. Cravens, .treasurer. Miss Glennys Roop introduced Clint Reed who conducted the junior band in a very entertaining variety show. The last meeting of the year will be held May 5, with an athletic exhibit. - DISTRICT CONTEST HELD IN OSSIAN The Fort Wayne district 4-H and F.F.A. judging and demonstration contest was Saturday at Ossian in Wells county. Incomplete results indicate that Adams county has three teams that qualify for state fair competiion. In. the crops judging contest William Journay’s Decatur team placed first and Arnold Gerke was high individual in the contest. The other team members were Jim Holt, Leroy Martin, and Stanley Allison. Fred Meier’s Monmouth team placed 20th. In the poultry and egg judging contest, Leonard Kingsley's BerneFrench team placed 2nd and Roscoe Wulliman was 3rd high individually. The other team members were Lester Smith, Daane Bluhm, and Harry Gerber. Martin Watson's Adams Central team placed 14th. Also Kingsley’s Berne-French leaf’ identification teams placed 3rd and 7th. The third place team members were Larry Gerber and LaVern Hannon and the 7th place team, Bill Rumple and Gary Beaty. In the insect identification contest Martin Watson’s Adams Central team of Margaret Griffiths and Carl Kaehr placed fourth. The livestock and dairy judging results will be reported later.
The Pleasant Mills Methodist W.S.C.S. will meet Thursday after>oon at 1:30 o’clock at the church, .dl members are urged to attend. Evening circle one of the W.S. C.S. of the Methodist church will meet tonight in the church parlor at 8 o'clock. » The Pythian Sisters will have initiation tonight at the K. of P. home at 7:30 o'clock. All members are urged to attend this important meeting. ~ The Rebekah lodge will hold a meeting in the Odd Fellows hall Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock and the Three Link cub will meet after lodge. Mrs.' Leonard Schwaller will be hostess to the St. Ambrose study club Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The Sunshine (Girls will meet tonight at the K. of P. home at 6 o’clock. All members are urged to be present. The Women's association of the 'Pfresbyteriajti church will m»eet Thursday at the church at 1 o’clock for a luncheon. The afternoon circles are asked to bring sandwiches and the evening circles are to bring salads. Our Lady of Victory study club will meet with Miss Rose Steigmeyer Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. So-Cha-Rea will meet with Mrs. Tony Metzler Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. tThe Bobo community organization will -have a carry-in basket supper at the Bobo school. Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Everyone in the community is invited to bring a basket of food and their owif-table service and enjoy the fellowship together. Mrs. Ehrsam. the music teacher, will present a program with the school children. This will be the last meeting of the school season. The Kirkland Township Farm Bureau will have a potluck supper at the Farm Bureau hall in Monroe, Friday evening at 6:30 o’clock. The D. Y. B. class of the Trinity E. U. B. church will hate a class meeting Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock in the church basement. Hostesses Include Mrs. Emma Butler. Mrs. Frank Clingenpell, and Mrs. Jess Case. Mrs. Margaret Ashbaucher was hostess recently to her pinochle club for their April meeting. After a luncheon was served,-six games of pinochte were played, wi-th prizes being won by Mrs. Edna McDougal, Mrs. Ruth Schamerloh, and Mrs. Esther Friend. Mrs. Vera Hammond and Mrs. Ruth Schamerloh were guests. The May meeting will be held at the home otf Mrs. Esther Friend with Mrs. Pauline Moses furnishing prizes.

Two Are Hurt In Early Sunday Mishap Two people were injured slightly in an accident which occurred at 1:35 a. m. Sunday about two and a half miles east of Decatur on U. S. 224. A two-Car collision caused S2OO damage to a car owned by Knut Syverson, 23, of Fort Wayne, and 1500 damage to a car driven by Kenneth E, Grimm, 19, of route six. —■ ■ . ‘ The injured were Erick Myhra, 25, of Fort Wayne, who. sustained cuts on his face and right leg, and Grimm who suffered a severe cut on his right temple. Myhra was treated at the Adams county memorial hospital and releasted immediately. Grimm was unconscious for several hours and was not released from the hospital until Sunday evening. The accident was caused when Syverson stopped his car on the highway to change a tire. Grimm saw the parked ’ car too late and was unable to stop his vehicle in time to avoid the collision. Harold Hansen, 24, of Fort Wayne, another passenger in the Syverson vehicle was not injured. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Williams of Decatur Saturday at 1:42 p.m. weighing four pounds and six ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel May of Geneva are the parents of a baby girl born Saturday at 7:16 p.m., weighing seven pounds and nine ounces. ■ A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schwartz of Berne. Sunday at 3:22 a.m., weighing eight pounds and two ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Noel Andrews of Decatur became the parents of a baby boy born today at 8? 42 a.m., weighing five pounds and four ounces. /■ A baby girl was born today to Mr. nad Mrs. George Patrick of Monroe at 10:20 a.m. weighing six pounds and four ounces. Mrs. Lucile Miller has returned home after spending several weeks vacation in the south. She visited with her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Shoaf who are residing in St. Petersburg, Florida. From there, she traveled to Austin, Texas to visit a son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Chalmer Miller,* who is in business in that city. Mr. and Mrs. Q. Remy Bierly attended the alumni banquet Saturday evening at the Poling school where Mr. Bierly was master of ceremonies. Cars driven by Howard R. Sprunger, 56, Berne and Dallas Moser, 16, Bluffton collided Friday evening in Bluffton. The Sprunger car was damaged to the extent of $95 and the Moser car, 345. Funeral services will be conducted at the Monroeville cemetery Wednesday of this week for Sgt. William H. Daugherty of that town who was killed in action November 28, 1950 in Korea. He was a member of Co. B Indiana Infantry Battalion. The burial service will be read by Rev. William Meddock, a former U. S. Chaplain. Mr. % and Mrs. James Holthouse and son Mark of Fort Wayne were visitors here yesterday. Adams Central FFA Holds Annual Dinner* Eighty parents and sons attended the annual Adams Central par-ent-son banquet held last Friday at Adams Central school, sponsored by the Future Farmers of America. Andy Williams, assistant superintendent of vocational education for Indiana was the guest speaker. Ezra Kaehr was awarded an honorary farmers degree by the Adams Central chapter of FFA. Martin Watson. Adams Central agricultural instructor made the following awards: DeKalb award fbr outstanding farming program, Larry Schwartz.
