Rural Youth Bowlers Win District The Adams county rural youth boys bowling team won the district 4 rural youth tournament Sunday, it was announced today by Roger Koeneman. Raymond Worden, Pau! Busse and Earl Yoder defeated the other seven teams competing in the district tournament, by bowling a score of 2084. Wells county mixed team defeated the Adams county mixed team composed of Elaine Blakey, Barbara Kelley, Shirley Gerkfe( John Kipder and Oa rd Bluhm. ~ The Adams county boys team will now compete in the state bowling tournament in May 15. Other rural youth members attending the tournament at the Rdlnbow Lanes in Huntington on Sunday were: Leona Bohnke, Ruth Busse, Charles Ripley, (Gloria Koeneman, Roger Koeneman and Tom Noll. Vern Stephens Given Release By Orioles BALTIMORE (IN6) —The Baltimore Orioles gave veteran third ditional release Monday night and optioned rookie second baseman Don Leppert to Charleston of the American Association on 24-hour recall. Stephens, whose .285 average was the second highest on the Orioles last season, saw little action this spring as Billy Oox was Installed as the regular third baseman. Wrestling Matches Here This Evening Wrestling, co-sponsored by the Decatur Volunteer firemen, returns to Decatur tonight with an all-star show scheduled to get un-, derway at 8:30 o’clock at the Decatur high school gym. Feature of the, show, arranged by Bruff Cleary Sports Promotion, Inc., will be a match between two of the nation’s loading women wrestlers, Bonnfe Watson and Lee Chona LaClaire. This will be a best of three falls, with a one-hour time limit. This is one of the first matches for women wrestlers in Indiana for the past two years. A 30-minute match will pit Bill Yogi against Marco Polo, both of whom have been favorites on wrestling cards at the coliseum in Fort Wayne. A tag team match will feature Rickey Waldo and Bull Montana against Bill Savage and Dick Torio. This is scheduled for the best two out of three falls with a onehour time limit. Severe Showers Hit Chicago, Suburbs CHICAGO (INS) — Severe thundershowers struck Chicago and elsewhere in northern Illinois Monday night, causing heavy property damage. The heavy rains, driven by winds of up to 63 miles an hour, came after the temperature rose to a record 83.3 degrees in Chicago. Northern and western suburbs got the brunt of the storm.
