Two Auto Mishaps Reported By Police Arrest Two Drivers On Traffic Charges A car driven by Kenheth M. Frank, of Decatur route five, back ed into a parked car owned by David Heller at' 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Cleveland street. Damage to the Heller car was estimated at SSO. Another accident occurred Saturday at 10:45 p.m. at the corner of Second and Madison streets when cars driven by L. J. Montn gue of Keystone and Eugene Weber of route two collided. Weber had stopped and Mauta<ue was unable to prevent his vehicle from crashing into the rear of the Weber car. Damage was estimated at $275 to the Mantague car and SIOO to the other vehicle.

E. N. Poeey. 52, of Mom Point, Miss., was arrested and fined $1 and costa in justice of the peace court Saturday afternoon for pulling an overlength trailer. David C. Erubler,; 18, of Decatur, was arrested Saturday at 7:50 p.m. for running a stop sign at the corner of Third and Monroe streets. He will appear in J. P. court tonight. . ■, Safety Films Will Be Shown Wednesday Two safety films, “Help Wanted" and “When Disaster Strikes," will be shown by the Adams county Red Cross chapter at a meeting of the Sunny Circle home demonstration club of Preble township Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the showing, which will be held at the Preble recreation center. The home demonstration group has Just completed the first aid course offered as a public service by the local Red Cross.

Laurent Attending New York Meeting George F. Laurent. personnel director of the Decatur General Electric company, will leave this evening by plane for New York City, where he will attend a meeting of labor relations directors of the G. E. He will return Wednesday night. Report Glen Potts Is Improved Today Glenn Potts, 53. of 1319 West Madison street, today was reported improving from the effects of a gunshot wound in his chest which he sustained Saturday morning. Potts, a veteran employe of the Decatur General Electric company, shot himself with a shotgun Saturday in the yard of his home. He rushed to the Adams county memorial hospital where he is still confined. His injuries, which include a severe flesh wound and a collapse of the left lung, are eerious but not- critical. Preble Judging Team To National A land judging team from the Preble Greenleaf 4-H club will entey the national land judging cutest**' in OklalioifFff*- City April 23 and 29. The team is composed of Roger Koeneman, Noel Fenner, Werner Reifsteck, and Bob Bauermeister, and is coached by Cletns Gillman of Decatur. The Preble team has previouslywon the Adams county contest, the northeastern Indiana contest and then the .Indiana state and Prairie Farmer contests. In this last contest, the boys were competing against teams from six states. Roger Koeneman had the distinction of being the second high indJvidua.l ginong the 150 entrees In the PiWtfie Farmer contest. This has beciwthe first year of land judging for all fuor boys. The trip to Oklahoma for the local team is being sponsored by the Krick-Tyndall Tile company of Decatur.
Rural Youth Plan Niagara Falls Trip Plan Week End At Falls During May Members of the Adams county rural youth voted last evening to spend the week end of May 21 and 22 at Niagara Falls for their annual week-end trip. The group will go on the Nickel Plate railroad and the cost will be approximately 523 for the train fare, bus fare, hotel room and sightseeing tour. Volleyball, badminton, ' basket ban and numerous quiet games were played by the members and guests attending the sports nigh, meeting last evening at the Geneva high school gym. The meeting was opened with group singing led by Jean Ann Potts and devotional s were led by Tom Noll. Roger Koeneman, president, called the business meeting to order. Shirley Gerke gave the secretary’s report and Jim Wilson gave the treasurer's report. Raymond Worden, vice-presi-dent, was appointed chairman of providing special features for the Root, Preble and Wabash township Farm Bureau groups during May. Rural youth members were selected to teach the officer's classes at the 4-H officer’s training schools April 25 at Berne and April 26 at Decatur. Earl Yoder Is chairman of this community service activity. A Share-The-Fun festival will be sponsored by the Rural Youth at the Lincoln school gym in De catur April 28. This contest If open to all 4-H and rural youth members. Anyone interested in entering this contest is asked to contact the county extension office. Sally McCullough is in charge of this program. Paul Busse, who is the county chairman of the bowling tourna ment, reported that the district tournament will be held at the Rainbow Lanes in Huntington Sunday. Adams county will enter a boys team and a mixed team. All those planning to go to Huntington Sunday are asked to meet at the Decatur post office at noon. Announcement was made that all those planning to go to Tipton on Monday night for the district meeting should meet at Decatur at 5:45 p. m. Stops will be made at Coppess, Berne and Geneva. Geneva received the attendance prise for having the most number of seniors present. Members joining the rural youth organisation were: Alice Stuber, Audrey Kuhn, Sue Jackson, Shirley Brandt, Barbara Mcßride, Violet Sheets, and Ronnie Wagley. Folk games and square dances were led by Sally McCullough and Roger Koeneman. Refreshments were served by Helen Baker and Shirley Fenstermaker. The meeting adjourned with a friendship circle. The next meeting will be held May 12 at the Farm Bureau building in Monroe. Miss Bertha Landis On TV Tuesday Miss Bertha Landis, home dem onstration agent, will appear on WKJG-TV Tuesday at 12:15 p. m. with Miss Martha Cullop, assistant state leader from Purdue university. They will discuss meth ods of program planning Th home demonstration clubs. Wednesday from 1 to 3 p. m. at Decatur high school Miss Cullop will meet with the vice-presidents of each of the home demonstration clubs in the county. Plans will be made for the lessons which will be studied in 1956. FIFTEENTH ANNUAL CLINIC HELD •■I | L Pictured above l» Dr. Roy Archbold, dean of Decatur dentists, who assisted the Tri Kappa sorority in its fifteenth annual dental clinic held this winter at Lincoln and St. Joseph schools in this city. All Decatur dentists assisted with the examination work, sponsored by the local sorority. On clinic day each year the dentists, volunteer workers from the active chapter and the associate chapter of Tri Kappa and dental assistants provide an examinnation for each child from kindergarten age through the sixth grade. The sorority also provides free dental care for those children who need work and whose parents are unable to provide the funds. Determt ation of these cases is made by the principals of the two schools and faculty members. This year 18 pupils were given free dental care at a cost of more than $125. Those in charge of the sorority's part in sponsoring the clinic wish to publicly express thanks for the cooperation of Decatur dentists, their assistants and school officials for their part in the clinic. Plans are now being completed for a Tri Kappa sponsored fashion review, May 9, and proceeds from this event will be placed in the fund set aside each year for the clinic work.
Talent Contest Will Be Held April 29 A county-wide share the fun talent contest will be held Friday evening, April 29 in Decatur. The contest is open to all 4-H an.i rural youth members of the county and will start at 8 j>. ra. in the Lincoln school auditorium. This contest is being sponsored by the Adame county rural youth and the county winner will compete in district contest, which will be held May 10 at Oesion. Top winners from the state appear at the national 4-H club congress in Chicago and other important events. Aots of any type suitable for stage presentation will be accepted. Full details may be obtained from the county extension office or the local 4-H adult "leaders who also have application blanks. Ribbons will ‘be awarded all entertainers. Deadline for entry in the contest is April 25 and entries should be forwarded to the county extension office. Truck Driver Burns To Death In Crash TIFFIN, O. (INS) — A 32-year-old Lewistown, Pa., truck driver burned to death in the cab of his truck early today when it crashed into a Chesapeake and Ohio coal train near Tiffin.
