Gen. Peyton March Dies Last Evening Chief Os Staff For U. S. In First War WASHINGTON (INS) — The nation’s top soldiers paid tribute today to Gen. Peyton C. March, the almost forgotten World War I chief of staff who died Wednesday at the age of 00. Retired since 1921, March emerged from obscurity in bls late years only as a critic during World War II of Gen. Dwight D. 'Eisenhower, whose staff he blamed for Allied reverses in the Battle of the Bulge. —
