MISSIONARY MEETING IS HELD WEDNESDAY The Nazarene missionary meeting was held Wednesday evening with Raymond McAhren leading the devotions. The Rev. C. E. Lykins led the group in the opening songs. Esther Clinger presented an article from "The Other Sheep.” and a vocal solo was sung by Rev. Lykins. JAn Interesting flannelgraph picture of missionary in Africa was presented by Mrs. George Anspaugh. Sally Suman was in charge of the regular business meetingClothing and linen purchased for a South American missionary was displayed at the meeting. MONMOUTH JUNIOR'S WILL PRESENT PLAY The junior class of Monmouth high school will present a three act comedy "The Crazy Castles,” in the school gymnasium Thursday and Friday. PLAN MOTHER-DAUGHTER CARRY-IN SUPPER The juniors of the American Legion auxiliary unit 43 held their monthly meeting at the American Legion home with 30 members present. The meeting was opened by Marilyn Braun, in the absence of Mrs. Clara Bauer. Plans were made for the next meeting which will be a mother and daughter carry-in supper May 2, at 5:30 o’clock- Katie Goelz presented a report on the costume dress of the Pan American. She is

Mrs. Emma Frank, Mrs. Angela Sharp, and Mrs. Betty ScotL A business meeting was held and refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Mildred Baker and Mrs. Ruth Strickler. JUNIOR AUXILIARY HOST TO DISTRICT The juniors of Adams post 43 recently entertained the fourth district juniors of the American Legion auxiliary at the Moose home- One-hundred and twenty juniors and 55 senior members were present from surrounding com munities. This was the fifth annual fourth district junior conference. Immediately following registration the meeting was opened by llene Hursey. Ilene Rursey introduced Marilyn Braun, who gave the welcoming address. She then presented Kay Borman, mistress of ceremonies, who introduced Mrs. Janet Joey, department president, Mrs. Della Kryder, and Mrs. Clara Bauer. A short talk was given by each of these women. A luncheon was served at noon by the Women of the Moose. Following the luncheon a tiny tot parade was held and each participant was presented with a gift. Prizes for entertainment were won by Columbia City, New Haven, Leo, Fort Wayne 148, and Woodburn. Other prizes awarded were as follows: best report of activities, Decatur; largest group present by percentage of their membership, Leo and Ossian; groups coming the greatest distance, Angola. Door prizes were won by Berne and New Haven. — STATE SENATOR TO ADDRESS B. P. W. Senator Von Eichhorn will be speaker At the meeting of Business and Professional Women Wednesday at 6:30 pjp. at the Fairway restaurant. Eichhflrn will. discuss the recent Indiana legislative assembly. Also a highlight of the meeting will be the election of officers for the 1955-56 club year. Reports summarizing the year’s activities will be given by chairmen of the standing committees. The club’s legislative committee, headed by Luelia Ellsworth is in charge of the meeting. She is being assisted by Grace Lichtenstiger and Eleanor Bieberich. recent meeting of district five which includes the Decatur club. Miss Joan Wemhoff was named a nominee for the state nominating committee. Miss Wemhoff is the immediate past director of the district. A stated meeting of the Eastern Star will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The Adams county Coon Hunters club will meet at the Reichert school Satuiday evening at 8 o’clock. The Dutiful Daughters class of the Bethany E. U. B. church will meet with Mrs- Amos Ketchum Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Mrs. Howard Eley will be the assistant hostess. Mrs. Adrian Baker will be hostess to the Past Presidents Parley Monday evening at 8 o’clock.

Trooper Richard Myers has cited Derryl Lehman of Berne, route 1, to answer a charge of exceeding the speed limit while driving on state road 116. A marriage license was issued at Bluffton yesterday to Evelyn Marie Gerke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gerke of Decatur, route 5, and Max (Eugene Crownovet of Monroe. GIRLSCOUT Brownie troop 12 met Tuesday evening 'after school in the Methodist church basement. We opened with the Brownie promise. Roll was called and dues collected. Six OXlock Service On Sunday Morning An altar clothed in resplendant white paraments and banked with potted lilies and other spring flowers and plants, and ah Easter cross of victory centered in the beautiful chancel, will greet the worshipers who attend the 6 o’clock sunrise on the festival of the Resurrection at the local Zion Lutheran church, West Monroe and Eleventh streets. The festival matins will be opened by brganist, Don Bieberich, who will break the morning quiet with an octave run on lhe Carlllonic bells, followed by the Easter hymn of victory, "I know that my Redeemer lives.*’ The pastor, the Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt, will bring the Easter message, speaking on “The angel’s Easter Sermon-'' The choir, directed ~by David Embler, will sing, “The Joyous Eastertide,”- a 17th century Dutch melody, and ‘‘Hallelujah, Amen,” from ‘Judas Maecaboeus’ by George F. Handel.
