vacation, spending the holidays with relatives and friends. Jean, ette. Hahnert will spend several days in Dayton, and June Edwards will go to Detroit. Sue Petrie, Marilyn Jefferies, and Twanetle Magley are all going to Huntington. To represent the freshman class will be Karen Jefferies, Barbara Kalver and Jane Grim who will spend the holidays in South Bend, Chicago, and Jamestown, Ohio, respectively. • • « » It seems that the junior class is a big booster of Decatur, because not one of the eighty-five students plan to go any further than 25 miles out of town.
Many favorable comments were received by the school for the fine production of ‘‘Harmony Hall”, which was given last Thursday and Friday. What the audience didn’t know, wan that about thirty minutes before curtain time on Thursday evening, Sheila Ahr, the soprano lead who played the part of Roaslie, accidentally fell and received cuts and bruises on both legs. But as the saying goes, “the show must go on,” and when the -curtain did open, everyone was in his place and ready to go. » • » » The wheels <have really started turning for the annual Jr.-Sr. Prom to be held May 13. The appointed committees have each had their Initial meetings, and with the help of the junior class sponsor. Miss Weidler, Prom promises to be bigger and better than ever. • ♦ * ♦ The D. H. S. Sports Calendar was opened Wednesday with a track meet at Ft. Wayne with Central and Central Catholic. Fans of the track team believe that this is to be one of its most promising years in a long time. * * « * A competative examination in high school chemistry will be given at D. H. S. April the 30th, to nine seniors. This test is sponsored by the Northeastern Indiana section of the American chemical society in Ft. Wayne, and is given in ninO different counties in northeastern Indiana. • . •. • - * Pob Ochsenrider, a senior, lias been awarded a scholarship from the Indiana chapter of Eastern Star. Boh plans to enter Earlham college, at Richmond, next fall. * • • • The Isatin I class has recently completed its third chariot race, and in the first section. Alicia Levy and Joyce Smith received
