Young Mothers Form Pre-School Groups Four Young Mothers Work Own Program SAN FRANCISCO. (INS) — No matter how much you love the little angel in your home, there is no doubt but that It’s a relief to be without him for a few hours each day. Housework goes so much faster when it is not interrupted by questions such as “How-high is up?” and “Why .fa an elephant?" A pre-school play school is the wonderful solution but to most young mothers, it presents as much of a budget-wrecking answi er as do baby sitters. Four young mothers in a west coast city have come up with their own answer, one that is fine for them and their children, and one which might well serve as a pattern for mothers in other sections of the country. Their pre-school play school is run by them, strictly for their own children in their own homes, and it has worked out well for three years on an informal friendly basis. The mothers have been friends since their marriage and each has a boy in approximately the same age group. Four mornings a week, the four youngsters gather alternately at one of the homes for three and a half hours of unobtrusively supervised play and the other three mothers have three and a half hours of freedom. Each mother has her allotted day in the week and she can plan her week in advance. When the weather is nice, the children play in the enclosed back yard of the home that is host and on cold or rainy days, the play is indoors in the playroom. The mother in charge seldom enters the Play, except when the going gets

It is probing the promotion and honorable discharge of Maj. Irving M. Peress. CoL Leverich said he was not told that Peress had refused on constitutional grounds to complete loyalty forms. The officer declared he later kept the dentist under survalttMMt J rough. Then she introduces diversions in the form of crayons, or shelf paper to cut into patterns. Occassionally, however, such as before holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s and the like, the mother of the day will plan a session where the children cut out Turkeys, Santa Clauses or hearts from Construction paper or bake cookies in holiday shapes. i They meet Monday, Tuesday, I Wednesday and Thursday from
9:30 until 12 in turn in each of the four houses'and the boys range in age from two and a half to four. Two other children have graduated from the group because they are now* in school and the changing age picture has given each except the youngest, a chance to be the oldest in a small group. There’s only one word of caution to be observed in organizing your own informal play school: check with your local board of health. Some cities and states have laws whicfi require that anyone caring for a child who is not a relative in her home must be licensed and this often is such a red tape problem as to make the idea impractical. JOIN! The goal of 'Red Cross Nursing Services is to train at least one member of every household in home nursing skills. Last year 208,200 certificates were issued for completion of Red Cross home nursing courses in Home Care of the Sick, and Mother and Baby care. Help continue this activity so necessary to public health by joining the American Red Cross this month and generously supporting its campaign for funds. Washington — More than 165 million tons of coal have been saved by the U.S. Bureau of Mines by controlling fires in inactive deposits, and the cost is negligible.

It's been happening week after week. More people coming in every day to see, sit in, sample and select the '55 Buick of their choice. More people than ever before in our history. That’s why you see so many new. Buicks on the road today. And that's why —to meet this unprecedented popularity — Buick production has been boosted to the highest levels of all time. «Buick Sales Are Soaring The simple measure of it all is this: Buick is so “hot” an automobile that it note outsells all other cars in the United States except two of the best-known smaller cars. And for reasons sound, substantial and thrilling. Buick styling, you see, was never so crisp, clean, distinctive. Buick horsepower was never so high — Buick interiors never so rich — Buick’s great ride never so satin-smooth and steady. t But there’s something else, too — something vastly different and exciting. Never before was there any motoring thrill like the
