HUSBANDS ENTERTAINED BY MONROE W. 8. C. 3. The members of the Monroe Methodist W. S. C. S. entertained their husbands as guests at their March meeting held recently in the church annex. It was the annual birthday party and members anti guests were seated at tables centered with decorations appropriate to mission school aided during the month of their birthdays. Mrs. Glen Stucky was program chairman for the evening. The Rev. Ralph Johnson gave the devotions. The ladies’ quartet of the church sang a religious number. Dr. and Mrs. A. Wesley Pugh, of Fort Wayne, showed elides and told many interesting experiences which they encountered this past summer while serving as mission-

The party also honored the March 2nd birthday of Maxine .Coleman, mfseienary to India, whom the society helps support. Treasure boxes containing money tor her were collected. Guests at the affair included the Rev. Roger Lautzenhiser and 12 youths from the Geneva Methodist church. Refreshments were served by the hospitality committee of the society, at which Mrs. Lucille 'Haines is chairman. WOMEN OF MOOBE IN RECENT MEETING The Women of the Moose met recently at the local Moose home. Mrs. Dwight Davis presented Mrs. Evelyn Kingsley, who sang two selections, accompanied by Mrs. George Myers. ♦ The Decatur chapter will be hostess to a very special event, the Mooseheart baby village day, to be held March 20, at the local Moose home. Chapters participating in this event will be Huntington, Bluffton, Portland. Hartford City, and Dunkirk. Committee in charge will be Mrs. Dallas Brown, Mrs. Meldren Kreps, Mrs. Charlotte Smith, and Mrs. Frances Monohan. All contributions
received will be given to the baby village at Mooseheart. A potluck supper will be iield March 14 at 6 o’clock and the regular meeting will be held at 8 o'clock. The college of regents is sponsoring a paint party Thursday, March 19, at 8 o’clock at the local Moose home. CHURCH MISSIONARY SOCIETY MEETS The Church of God missionary society met in the fellowship hall recently at 7:30 o’clock. The meeting was opened by reading of the pledge. Fayma Geyer, devotion leader, read a poem, “Prayer for Freedom.” Angelia Sharp read the scripture’and Flossie Hawkins offered prayer. Different topics were mentioned <>W the needs of India. During the business meeting officers were elected for the year. Refreshments were srvd at the close of the meeting. ZION WOMEN’S GUILD IN RECENT MEETING The Women's guild of the Zion E. and R. church met recently following the Lenten service. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. James Borders. It was decided to have a colored Easter egg sale April 9. Mrs. Forest Owens, service chairman, discussed sending mother and chMd packages to world service. Mrs. Ray Heller is sponsoring representative for the Brownie troop this year. Following the meeting refreshments were served by Mrs. William Tutewiler, Mrs. Delmar Troyer,’ Mrs. M. F. Worthman, Mrs. Paul Uhrick, Mrs. Adolph Weidler and Mrs. Clara Trout. The Union township Farm Bureau will meet Friday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the Immanuel Lutheran school. Speakers for the evening will be Forest Tucker and L E. Archbold. Refreshments will be served and’ movies will be shown. The Pet and Hobby group will also meet. Members of the Red Men lodge will have a fish fry Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock in the lodge room. A short business meeting will be held. Unit three of the Bethany E.U.B. church will meet at the home of Mrs. Glen Mauller of 726 Dierkes St., Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Donald Deaton and Mrs. Ralph Habegger will be as--sistant hostesses. Mrs. Cbtrles Hacker will be the program chairman. The Union Chapel W—g, W. B. church will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the church. The annual election of officers and collection of Lincoln pennies will be held.
