MRS. J. FRED FRUCHTE HOSTESS TO SORORITY •Mrs. J. Fred Fruchte was hostess Tuesday evening to the Delta Lambda chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. After the opening ritual, Mrs. Fred Corah presided at the business meeting. The group decided to contribute $5 to the heart fund. PRESBYTERIAN CIRCLE MEETS LAST EVENING Mrs. Kenneth Runyon was hostess to the Naomi circle of the First Presbytertan church last evening. Mrs. David Langston conducted the meeting. Miss Bertha Heller led the devotions. The study of India and Pakistan continued with Lois Bodkin discussing the geographic characteristics and the climate-of both countries. Mary Jane Saylors told of the schools and Mrs. Simon Heemstra talked on the medical service. ’ Mrs. Wayne Schfiepf and Mrs. Franklin Detter were assisting hostesses. MRS. JAMES ELBERSON ENTERTAINS SORORITY Mrs. James Elberson entertained Xi Alpha Xi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority Tuesday evening. The opening ritual was repeated and Mrs. Frances Ellsworth presided over the business meeting. A motion was made to donate $5 to the endownment fund of Beta Sigma Phi and also voted t<T pay $5 to the heart fund. ROBERT MILLS SHOWS EUROPEAN SCENES Mrs. Robert Mills showed colored slides taken on her trip to Europe at a meeting of the Business and professional Women’s club Wednesday evening. The meeting, which took place at the Moose home, was a guest night affair. ’During the business meeting donations were collected for the Heart Fund drive. A total of $5 will be donated to the fund. Following the program and business session, games were played apd prises were won by Miss Joan Wemhoff, Luella Ellsworth > and Iverna Werling. , AUXILIARY JUNIORS MEET AT LEGION The Juniors of the American Legion auxiliary unit 43 met at the Legion home recently. The business meeting was conducted by the junior chairman, Marelyn Braun. Valentine and birthday gifts will be sent to the girl sponsored by the Junjors at the Knightstown childrens home. The girls made Valentine favors to be given to the patients at the Irene Byron sanitarium.. Kay Bormann presented a short talk on Americanism. Refreshments were served by the hostess- •». Jackie Chew and Kay Ann Noack, assisted by their mothers. "XL —_ TRINITY W. 8. W. 8, MEETS TUESDAY The W. S. W. 8. of the Trinity church met Tuesday evening with Mrs. Herman Sautbine as the leader. The prelude was played by Mrs. Herald Hitchcock. Hymns were sung by the group and Mrs. Sephus Jackson sang a solo, accompanied by Mrs. Hitchcock. The scripture was read by Mrs. Lloyd Kitson, Mrs. Ruth William, Mrs. John Kelley, Mrs. D. C. Wynn, and Mrs. Clarence Drake. A special duet was presented by Kay and Kathryn Wynn. Directed prayers for the needs of others were offered by Mrs. John Chambers and Mrs. Marie Deßolt. The subject “Mountains to be Moved,” was presented by Mrs. Frank Bohnke. Mrs. Harry Bronn, Mrs. R. O. Wyfln. and Mrs." Richard Shaffer gave Very Interesting talks on the lives and people of India, Pakistan, and Ceylon.

In closing a poem that was written by a girl from India to the Christians of the world was read by the leader. Mrs. Jackson had charge of the business meeting with 19 members present. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Ruth Williams, Mrs. Paul Wietfeldt, and Mrs. Alfred Krummen. WEMHOFFS HONORED ON 33RD ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wemhotf who (Celebrated their 33rd anniversary were recently honored with a party given by Mr. and Mrs. Owen Weinhoff of Fort Wayne. The dinner table was centered with a three tiered chocolate cake with pink rosebuds forming a ring around the cake. The honored guests were presented with a lovely gift. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reber and daughter, Don and Elenore Wemhoff, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Wemhoff, and the honored guests. CELEBRATE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY FRIDAY Mr. and Mrs. John B. Fleming of Decatur will celebrate ~ their golden wedding anniversary Frt day. Open house will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clots Eichar from 7 to 9 p. tn~ Mr. and Mrs. Fleming have six living children. ThCy are: Mrs. Clois Eichar. The Psi lota XL honorary group will meet Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock with Mrs. A. R. Holthouse.l Pocohantas lodge will meet Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock in the Red Men hall. A Tri-Chem paint party will be held. Delta Theta Tau sorority held a regular businear meeting with the president, Mrs. James Newton. presiding. The club donated to the heart fund and will give a Valentine party for the Brownie troop they sponsor, which is troop 112. The sorority will sponsor a bake sale February 26. A chicken and ham dinner will be sponsored by the ladles of St. Rose Catholic church, February 13, serving from 11 a. m| to 3 p. m. in the St. Joseph school basement at Monroeville. Prices are adults $1 and children 50 cents. Everyone is welcome. The St. Paul Ladies Aid society will meet at the home of Mrs. Gale Cook Wednesday all day. (Continued on Page Six)

Mrs. Herman Aschliman of Decatur route four was returned to her home recently after undergoing major surgery at the WMls county hospital. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Strickler and family will leave Friday afternoon for a week-end visit at Alexandria with the Rev. Dwight McCurdy family, formerly of Decatuy. Wilbur Luginbill of Berne Mis been admitted to the Lutheran hospital in Fort Wayne with a severe back injury. He is expected to be a patient in the hospital for about ten days.
