Last Month Monthly Report Os Association Given Rolandes Liechty, whose herd included the top two and eighth place cows in January in the dairy herd improvement association for Adams county, had the high herd for the month with an average of 60.9 pounds of butterfat, Everett Rice, herd supervisor, said this morning. - “ Other herd placements, with pounds of butterfat, were: second, Jesse Blume & Sons, 46.8; third, Franklin Steury, 46.8; fourth, Paul E. Liechty, 45.0; fifth, Martin Habegger, 44.1; sixth, Albert Evel, 42.7; seventh, Reuben Schwartz, 42.3; eighth, Ben Gerke, 41.6; ninth, Eugene Caffee, 40.6; tenth, Carl E. Amstutz, 39.1. Ten high cows, with their butter fat production in pounds, were owned by: first and second, Rolandes Liechty, 109.1 and 103.1; third, Eugene Caffee, 98.9; fourth, Jesse Blume & Sons, 97.1; fifth, Franklin Steury, 87.9; sixth and seventh, Jesse Blume & Sons, 85.0 and 81.0; eighth. Rolandes Liechty, 80.0; ninth, Von Gunten & Yager, 79.4; and tenth, Chris Stahly, 77.4. Liechty also led in herd and individual cow production in the month of December, Rice reported. However, the herd average improved from 52.9 in December to the present 60.9.
