NAOMI CIRCLE MEETB WEDNESDAY EVENING The Naoinl circle of the Firat Presbyterian church met last evening at the home of Mrs. Richard Green. Mrs. David Langston, circle chairman, conducted the meeting with Mrs. Simon Heematra assisting her. 'Mrp. Dick Heller,, secretary, and Mrs. Wilbur Petrie, treasurer, are the officers for the coming year. Mrs. Richard Green was appointed representative to the fellowship committee. Miss Bertha Heller presented the devotfonals and announced the book of Hebrews to be the study for the year. The program, with Mrs. Kenneth Runyon leading, was the discussion and study of India and Pakistan. Mrs. Charles. Magley and Mrs. Robert Gay assisted the hostess. CHURCH MOTHERS CLUB MEETS TUESDAY NIGHT Church Mothers study club met in the Methodist church parlor Tuesday evening, with 16 members present. The meeting opened with the club song and Mrs. Vincent Parker read the devotions. Mrs. Don Cochran and Mrs. Luther Brokaw presented the lessons from the "Parents and Christian Home” magazines. Mrs. Hollis Bonitas presided over the business meeting and the next meeting will also be held in the church parlor. The meeting was closed with the club prayer. Hostesses for the event were Mrs. Tim Sprague, Mrs. Delbert Van Horn, Mrs. Erman Johnson, and Mrs. Lowell Smith, STQRY BOOK HOUR CHANGED The regular story book hour held at the public; library has been changed from 10 am. to 4 p.m. This project for children of preschool age has been successful since it was started June 1. The average attendance is 18. * B. P. W. HEARS TALK ON DECATUR SCHOOLS A talk on Decatur schools was presented by W. Guy Brown at the dinner meeting of Business and Professional Women’s club Wednesday evening at the American Legion home. One of BPW's projects is aiding the L society. The business meeting included a request for help on the Decatur I Mothers’ March on Polio Jan. 28. 1 Several members volunteered to help in the door-to-door campaign. Plans were made for the meet--1 ing which will be a guest night Feb. 9. On an appeal by Miss Marlene Laurent, civil defense representative for the club, members will aid the civil defense organization at their next meeting. ROSE GARDEN CLUB MEETS HERE TUESDAY The Rose Garden club met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Harry Stults. Mrs Ralph Roop was assistant hostess. Mrs. Paul Daniels preshied over the business meeting. The lesson was presented by Mrs. Frank Crist, using as her topic, “Making the Most of Indoor Gardens" and “Mums and Dahlias .from Seeds.” The contest'on birds was in' charge of Mrs. Harry Hebble. Mrs. Dale Moses was awarded the prize. Refreshments were served by the hostesses. The Corinthian class of the First Christian church will meet Monday evening at 7:130 o’clock at the home of Kitchen. Mrs. Paul Daniels will be in charge of devotions. The Welcome Wagon club will meet Monday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Cletus Gillman of 303% N. Fourth street. AU newcomers of Decatur who have received a Welcome Wagon call are welcome to attend this meeting. The Adams County chorus will meet Monday evening at 7:30 o’clock for practice at Berne. New members will’ be received at this time. The Delta Theta Tau sorority “held "their regular business meeting at the Elks home. The final report on Good Fellows was given by Mrs. Cliff Brewer. Miss Rosemary Spangler gave the financial report. Several projects were discussed during the meeting,
The V. F. W Jatjjes auxiliary will have a buatator meeting Monday evening at 8 o’clock at the home. 4 a The- Kum-Jpin-Us class of the Bethany E. U. B. church will meet Monday evening at the ehureh. Hosts and hostesses will be Mr, and Mrs. Merritt Alger and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ross. Mrs. Winston Rawley will have the devotions. The Root Township Farm Bureau met Monday in the Monmouth school. The president presided over the business meeting. Devotions were led by the S. and E. leader. A film on safety was shown. Door prizes were awarded to Mrs. Paul Fuelling and Sherman Kunkel. Refreshments were Served at the close of the meepng.
