ttIRL SCOUT AREA STUDY GROUP MEETS ■The Girl Scopt area study group met In Huntington yesterday. The groups were Adams, Welle, Huntington, Wabash, and Miami counties. The purpoaq of the meeting* Is how to pool the resources to the advantage of all Girl Scouts and In order that a higher quality of programs might be offered to all girls from the ages of seven to IT in the five counties. During these meetings the needs of scouting in the individual local!ties and also the needs in program fields are studied. The nest are* meeting will be held in Decatur January 13, at the Legion home. BUSINESS MEETING IS HELD BY SORORITY The Psi lota Xi sorority held a business meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Ned Johnson. Mrs. Ray Lehman, president, presided over the meeting which was opened with the club collect, minutes of the previous meeting, and the treasurer's report. Reports were given on the Christmas dance by Donna Roth, bake sale by Barbara Osterman, and the auction by Bonnie Lehman. The January mid-year convention will be held at Indianapolis January 29. All reservations must be in by Jan. IS to the president. Following the business meeting, refreshments were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be a social, January 19 at the Elks home. ■| - 0 The circles of the Presbyterian church will meet as follows: Ruth circle will meet Wednesday at S o'clock at the home of Mrs. George Bair. Naomi circle will meet with Mrs. Richard Green Wednesday at 8 o’clock. The Mary circle will meet with Mrs. William Stiverson Thursday at 2:30 o’clock. The Martha circle will meet with Mrs. Roy Runyon Thursday at 2:30 o'clock. The Root township Farm Bureau will meet at the Monmouth school Monday evening at 8 o’clock. ♦ The Ladies Aid of Union Chapel Church met Thursday for their regular meeting. The day was spent in sewing and quilting. Mrs, Harvey Koos, president, was in charge of the business meeting. F. hall Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Plans will be completed for installation of officers at the next meeting of January 25. The district deputy president of 30, Nora Glendenning of Geneva, and her installing staff will be present for the event. Charles Whitman read an article from "The Other Sheep.” The lesson study was given by Mrs. Lykins, followed by colored slides of Africa. The meeting was dosed with prayer. The Salem W. S. C. S. will have an all day meeting Thursday at the home of Mr*. Oscar Young. The study course “The Master Oalletb for Thee," will be held in the morning. The regular business meeting will be held in the afternoon following the potluck dinner at noon. The Pythian Sister Needle elub will meet Monday after Temple. The hostesses will be Laurinda Kunowich, Mabel Striker, Verda Beineke, and Mary Ahr. The committee for January 24 will be Anola Crist, Oustle Baker, and Emmi Beavers.

Patty Miscrola Packard Automobile Agency Is Awarded The Packard automobile agency for Adams county has been awarded to Hugh Engle *nd Harry "Jack" Irwin, operators of EngleIrwin Motors, a mile south of Decatur on U7~U. highway 27, it was announced today. The Packard franchise will be operated by the new owners in addition to- their Studebaker agencyr which-they have operated for several years. New Packard automobiles will be on display at the local concern's salesroom January 17, Hugh Engle, cb-owner of the agency said today. Man Dragged From Burning Apartment INDIANAPOLIS (INS) —A 48-year-old man was dragged unconscious from his burning apartment and Indianapolis police arrested him on a disorderly conduct charge. District fire chief • Frank O'Maley said the fire apparently started when Herbert French, 48, dropped a cigarette in an upholstered chair. Slight Damage Done In Accident Today About SBO property damage was caused in an automobile accident at 1:50 a. m. today five and a half miles east of Decatur on U.
