VFW AUXILIARY . IN SOCIAL MEETING The V. F. .W. Ladies Auxiliary of post 6236 held a social meeting at the Post home Monday evening. Games were played and prises were won by Glenys Marts, Charlotte Stevens, and Varona Venus. The booby prise was won by Mrs. Ada Welty and the door prise by Mrs. Crystal Hook. , Refreshments were served to 23 members. Those in charge of the event were Ethel Gaffer, Bessie 'Pomerenki, and Audrey Ballard. 'Plans were made to hold a party M the V. A. hospital in Fort Way be, Thursday evening. Those planning to are asked to tneet at the \ Past borne at 6:45 p. m. The next social meeting Will be held February 7, with Mrs. Elaine McDonnell, Mra Glenya Marts, and Mrs. Laura Haggard entertaining. A business meeting will be held January 17. TRI KAPPA* HOLO BUSINESS MEETING The Tri Kappa sorority held a regular busines meeting Tuesday evening at the Elks home with Mrs. Mary Jane Runyon presiding. It was announced that Francis Faurote of Decatur was the receiver of the doll that was given away by the chapter sos charity. Mrs. Lowell Harper, public relations chairman, reported that the Tri Kappa state convention will be held April 15 and 1* at French Lick. At the close of the business meeting an impressive pledge ceremony was held for Mrs. John Flickinger: Light refreshments were served to the group by Mrs. Joseph Kaehr, Mrs. Lyman Hann, and Mrs. Kenneth McConnell. The next meeting will be a social meeting January IS. Committee in charge will be Mrs. McConnell, Mrs. Hann, and Mrs. Dale Alber. The Art department of .Woman's club will meet Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the home of Mrw. Adrian Wemboff. Rainbow for Girls will be held Thursday evening at the Masonic hall at 6:45 o'clock. Election of officers will be held. The Fireman's auxiliary will meet at the home of Mrs. George Rents Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Smith and daughters Jean and Deborah ot south of the city, returned home from Pittsburgh, Pa., where they spent New Years visiting with Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Westhoff, Mrs. Smith’s parents. December 29 marked the, 83rd birthday of Mr. Westoff and New Year's day "Was the 61st wedding anniversary of Mrs. Smjtll’s_pai'ents. All eight of the children and families were present for the happy occasion.
