HOME DEMONSTRATION CLUBHOLD PARTY The .Union Township home demz - Onstration club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs Evan Barkley for their annual Christmas party. At noon a carry-in dinner was served to-24 four guests, and 14 children. Mrs. Fred Marbaugh called the business meeting to order by memtoejy answering the roll call of the month. Minutes of the previous * ,n read-and approved. X B -' ChalmeF Barkley then opened ijig/ program by reading two items from “The-Christmas Issue of Ideals." Onalee Barkley played several Christmas carols on the piano, and then being named by different members of the group, they were called on to lead the group in the singing of each carol. " A solo, “Away In a Manger,"■ was sung by Pamela Nidlinger. ’ Stevie Morgan and Karen Bark/ey sang "Silent Night," and "Glory to God in the Highest.” Mrs. Rol- / land Grpte sang ”0 Christmas Tree,” in German. Karen Barkley sang "1 Love You," and the program closed with the group singing Christmas carols, The gift exchange was held, \ cheer sisters of the past year were \ revealed and new names were qrawn. Leuenberger, Jr., of Monroeville. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Leuenberger, Sr. Miss Bohnke is a graduate of Monmouth high school and is employed at the General Electric company in Decatur. Her fiance” graduated from Monroeville high school and is now a student at the Indiana University school of dentistry. No date has been set for the wedding. RUTH ANN WERLING IS ENGAGED TO WED Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Werling of Gsgian have announced the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Ann, to Richard Lee Bultemeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bultemeyer of Decatur. Miss Werling is a of Ossian high school and comptometer school and is by Wolf and Dessauer in Fort Wayne. Her fiance, a graduate of Monmouth high school, is employed by Syfert Foods, Inc. No date has been set for the wedding. a MISS CARMA NELSON TO BE MARRIED Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Nelson of Hicksville, 0., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Carma, to Roland G. Bultemeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bultemeyer of Decatur. \ Miss Nelson is a graduate of Hicksville high school and Elkhart ■University and is employed by the Lincoln National Bank ahd Trust company. Her fiance, a graduate of Monmouth high school, is stationed with the ‘United States navy at Camp LeJeune, N. C. No date has been set for the wedding. New ideas for salads .will be the topic of the leaders lesson for the 21 leaders from Adams county's home demonstration clubs on Monday at the Decatur high school from 1;15 until 3:15 p.m. The Historical club will meet with Mrs. Homer Lower, at 2:30 o’clock 'Wednesday afternoon. The Girl Scout .association will meet Thursday evening pt 7:30 o’clock at the American Legion home. » The St. Vincent De Paul society held a regular, monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon. After a short business meeting, cards were - played and prizes werq won by Mrs. Eugene Durkin, Mrs. Margaret Braun, and Mrs? Frank Schmitz. Mrs. Mary Omlor won the door prize. Home Demonstration Club Women Meet. 160 Delegates At Meeting Thursday A panel discussion of facts learned Tn classes tor officers of the county home demonstration clubs and county chorus followed morning classes for 160 women delegates from the 21 home demon- ‘ stration clubs in Adams qounty Thursday at Adams Central school. " w L. E. Archbold, retiring county agent, and Mrs. Archbold, were presented with a check for $25 by , the women of the county, in thanks for their 25 years of service to Adams county. Archbold, speaking to the afternoon session, outlined the progress which the clubs have made in the past 25 years, the future of the clubs, and the part women play in the overall extension picture. "Shared Leadership” was the subject of Miss Martha Cullop, women’s leader from Purdue university, whp also addressed the afternoon session. She showed the greater value to all club members if tasks are delegated and every-

Mrs. Theron Fenstermaker was installed as president;; fifet vice-president, Mrs.. Harold Ziegler; ‘ second vice-president, Mrs. R. G/Tiersh; secretary, Mrs. Floyd Baker; assistant secretary, -Mrs. Noah Habegger;. and treasurer, Mrs. Bert Haley. Mesdames Fenstermaker, Ziegler, and Hersh were re-elected, while the other officers were new. During the morning, classes were given for each group of otti'cers. Miss Bertha Landis, county home demonstration agent met with the leaders and assistant leaders; Miss Martha Cullup, Pardue leader, taught the president* and vice-presidents Miss Gloria Koeneman, secretaries and treasurers; Dick Willsey and George Nuffer, health and safety leaders; Dick Heller, Jr., news reporters; and Mrs. Martin Neuenschwander, song leaders. A ham dinner was served in the Adams Central cafeteria at noon by a committee of ladies under the direction of Mrs, Floyd Arnold.
